skywest hiring

Yep, looks like it's true.
Here's my question. The 16 upgrades......will it be transitions or initials? We're fat on EMB CA's and I know that all those SAN CA's have been blitzing Klen's phone. If SKW plans on keeping their EMB CA’s fully staffed, will they allow EMB CA’s to transition and then back fill them with initial EMB upgrades?
Should be interesting. As for the new hires……who knows where they will come from? It’s completely wrong for the company to put new hires in the RJ class when there are so many EMB FO’s with several years of seniority that want to transition. IMO, all new hires should continue to be placed in the EMB.

EMB CA's would probably fill the RJ class.
Some FO's could then upgrade on the EMB.
Any RJ FO vacancies would go to EMB FO's.
New hires would get whatever was left...probably EMB.

I agree. I stand no chance in transitioning; I just want these slots to be awarded fairly. If they are I'd expect the RJ upgrade classes to be full of the former SAN and SMF EMB CA's. LOL!.

I have to look again.. but isnt there something in the ASA contract saying we can switch between companies? I really hope they take care of us furloughees too.. It doesn't seem fair that we're on the street and UAL furloughees get first dibs when ASA is owned by Skywest..

There might be a loophole...if the ASA pilots were treated as SKW, Inc furlough recalls as opposed to new hires they would take priority over UA pilots I think.
But they would have to keep their longevity and seniority to make it look right...I don't see that happening.

I guess the majority of us furloughed ASA pilots shouldn't plan on putting in our notice to Applebees anytime soon then!! lol Just kidding..
