Eagle Displacement - Round 3
#51
This was taken from the Eagle koolaid page, from someone I guess who had a hand helping to inspect the "New" LGA crewroom
For those who don't know, our entire crew space is 280 square feet (he and I measured, and the amusing thing is the Port Authority is charging for more than that...) and 85 degrees warm and is stale, moldy, etc...
Gleaned from the encounter:
1) Terminal C will be demolished or totally gutted within 24 months. Either way, we & United have to vacate. Hence the disinterest in spending any major $$$.
2) It's a "dry lease" on the terminal. AMR is in charge of all infrastructure, HVAC, IT, etc... In other words, we can do what we want with the place. Given this tidbit, I opened the ceiling panels, closed hot water valves feeding the radiators and blocked the vents. Hope this helps. Got called out to fly and haven't been back.
3) Crews at other stations pool money to pay for cable TV. (true?)
4) the ethernet ports around the room are live, you can get outside internet if you know how
5) We're paying $75 per month per Sabre printer. If one isn't working, call the number on the sticker and get the ball rolling to have it replaced or fixed. Call often and repeatedly, we get charged per phone call. If asked for ID #, give chief pilots... :-)

Sign into the ALPA page, go to the EGL MEC page, click the link for the seniority list... when it open there are are bunch of tabs at the bottom... one of them is for seniority in base... click it, put your number in and it will show you where you are, and what you can hold in every base, seat, equipment.
