I'll have to check it out. Maybe I'll post. I've left it voluntarily and involuntarily now!

We have been paid as much as Bush's NMB has allowed for the last eight years.

Cheers we now have a new pro-labor NMB on our side, and another regional joining ALPA. Better days are ahead, we just have to persevere.

Labor Dept. choice praised in many quarters

Sad thing is, I am still pretty much broke due to still paying off school/flying loans.

I did work over my vacation, and living in base makes all the difference in the world, however I make only $100.00 or so per month with per diem
You'd be taking home more $$ saab, if you weren't spending all that money trying to supercharge that S2000.

I found a job out of the industry, to give me a wage just about equal to what you're making...when i'm there, hopefully, i'll begin going with the turbo route on my jetta....Or restore my ole' firebird.

Hey Juice, like your number...how much thought, negotiation, and patience did it take to get there?

Find out the average salary of a Dr. (surgeon) in this country. That amount, is the MINIMUM I should make. I have the responsibility of more lives over a 4 day trip that a surgeon has over an entire year. Seriously.

Ok, how about this:

$2.50 per hour, per passenger for an FO
$5.00 per hour, per passenger for a CA

Fees that should be on the ticket. So, you take a two hour flight, the ticket fee for crew cost should be $15.00, built in. Simple. The companies can still pay the FAs and all the per diem.

Now here's a catch 22 situation, i know we all complain that there are to many individuals getting into aviation considering some of the less glamorous aspects of our jobs.

What do you think the industry would turn into, if people thought after four years of college, they could make a six figure job, and it's a degree that's enjoyable enough that you wouldn't lose much time from drinking your nights away.

On the contrary, maybe the resulting flood of applicants would require companies to weed out the "lesser" people, resulting in better work forces, and higher minimum qualifications, however, it'd go polar opposite of supply and demand for our salaries.

To any management group, you are worth whatever the lowest paid pilot flying your A/C in the industry, which means most of us are overpaid.

With this reasoning how much should ATC controllers make then? They're responsible for WAY more lives than we as pilots. What about police officers? Fire fighters?

You are worth whatever the market says you are, not what you "think" you're worth. Last time I checked the airlines weren't making money hand over fist and there are plenty of pilots on the street banging on Mesaba's door.

Just wondering how everyone feels about this. When i was flight instructing a year ago in Maryland it seemed like very few FBO's had a multi-engine aircraft. I don't think that those that had a multi had a very huge demand for them. To me it seems that faster single engine airplanes are a better option for people than barons and others.

With this is mind it doesn't seem like a person would be able to get enough multi time to be "qualified" without going to instruct at a pilot mill. What are your thoughts? Is this my own crazy theory? I know most people on this forum probably are not still in the loop of whats going on at small FBO's, I'm just hangin by a thread

Just like the title says, i was sitting around here, after a long day of de-icing and flying into crap weather at every destination, so, i started thinking, 33/hr isn't really good enough for the workload endured, what do you guys think you're worth as a pilot of an airliner? And part two, do you link the pay you'd expect to the thought that a regional could be a career airline, or, building block...Let the games begin.
Is it any better if you're flying an MD80 , or an airbus? Or is just knowing your making more the comforting part
