Default 2012 Boom in Hiring

Please spend the next 4 years sweetening up your resume`.

Economic recovery + Major Airline Pilot Retirements = Your Dream Job

The b&tching about every other regionals' contract, the entitlement generation, hair gel, i-pods and backpacks won't matter then...

I'm normally not one to buy into the hype, but I tend to agree. I think the perfect storm is brewing. Not only for the reasons you mentioned, but because right now potential flight students aren't getting financing for their ratings. Soon enough things are gonna go crazy...

It will start sooner than that at the regional level through normal attrition, but the jobs at the majors will be scarce until the age 60 guys start reaching 65. At which point, an entire generation begins to retire over a fairly lengthy period of time. i.e. the Vietnam era guys flying the big equipment today. That SHOULD (speculation) make massive room for advancement through to the more popular places to work at.

So it IS possible that American Eagle FOs might upgrade then! Maybe I WILL apply to Eagle after all. I have some friends there. They like it, except for the lack of upgrades...

Ya nailed it.

Only difference is a dream job, but not quite the dream pay...

Yeah, oh well. Should be painless right? If so then I won't notice the difference.
