I missed that. Could be Horizon, Lynx, Colgan.

It didn't take long this time to jump on Mesa now did it. Why even go there? Defend your statement based on income from your airline and the number of pilots senior to you v.s. how long it takes to make captain at Eagle. Eagle is a great place to work and hopefully soon more of us will make the move over. I hope all pilots make their weight in gold they all deserve it regardless of the name on the tail!

A $12/hour job doesn't advance your career. I'd rather take a lower paying job that keeps me advancing in my career than a crap job at Best Buy (used to work there) that puts just as little food on the table and does nothing for me long term. Long term investments are usually a better bet if you have time to wait. If you are litterally starving, I'd bet on a short term investment of time until something/anything long term opens up. I would rather fly with someone that wants to be there too, but I can't blame somebody for taking the job because its the only airline that would hire them. Example, I REALLY want to work for Southwest, but I took the job at eagle because they were the only airline that would hire me. It may not be the job I want, but it puts food on my table and gets me one step closer to my goal. I'd bet most Eagle pilots didn't want to retire here when they were first hired. Ten years of their life later, many have learned to love it. Its kinda like an arranged marriage.

I actually am expecting to spend my career at Eagle and that decision was made in my first year. I know most want to get there time and move on and that is fine with me as it helps me move up the list but I am a career changer and have a family so I prefer a stable and secure job that will eventually pay 6 figures over chasing the dream and all the sacrifices and risk that go with it.

I respect your choice; hopefully you get the chance to exercise it. Fuel needs to be wayyyy south of $100 for our 50 seaters to remain profitable. AMR, after concluding APA negotiations, will decide the way forward for Eagle regarding larger aircraft. I think it will either be very rosy or very crappy, no middle ground.

Ok Buddy, I don't want to come off as an ass here but why do you care? You didn't have to answer my questions if you didn't want too but you did, and I appreciate it. BTW, I was hired at Mesa after I graduated college and they were one of a few regionals still hiring so I really didn't have a choice. Do I regret my time at Mesa maybe a little bit, but the people I worked with were great people and great pilots. Flying into the most complex airports in the country is something I wont forget. I would love to work at AE for the fact that they have good equipment, treat their pilots well, have decent pay and are relatively stable. I think pilots need to help each other out and not criticize when someone asks simple questions about their company. When you have been furloughed for 8 months then talk to me again about taking any flying job.

Furloughed 6.5 months in recall class now. When I was on the street I pass on a airline job. Why? Because it was for a **** company and I was making more with my part time job then I would working for them.
