Mooney, Airsupposrt, Nicholasblonde.....please. How many times have we heard one of you guys post about some -900 FO who had his epaulets upside down? Its getting kind of old.
Nicholasblonde, you talk about confirmation bias, why dont you look in the mirror.
If you dont believe the rumor, then dont come to the page. Regardless if there has been an official announcement, all signs at XJ point to more aircraft coming.

uh, please show me a post that i, or anyone, has made prior to today about the epaulets. how can it get old, if today is the first time i, or anyone, have mentioned it.

actually that's the first I've heard of it on here....but then again I tend to stay away from any post that has "rumor" or "from an official source" in it's main title...after about a year i got sick of rumors

I hope you guys get those 900s, and that all the new hire FOs that start flying them wear their epaulets upside-down, so that there will be 15 new RJs at Xj, and tons of Xj Fos with upside-down epaulets...then EVERYONE will be right, no one will be wrong, and we can all move on with our obviously interesting lives....ha ha

I still insist you all should be fighting right now to merge your lists, because this will just get uglier. It may suck initially, but it will pay huge dividends down the road. Whipsaw can never be a good thing for any of us.
I can't even imagine what would have happened to those at RAH if they didn't get those lists merged. A friend that works there said that senior CRJ pilots would be on the street right now, with junior ones still flying on the 170.

Reading everyones' post is like watching Anna Nicole Smith tell her husband she loved him..............
Since I don't normally get involved in the school yard gossip heres what I know:
Nicholasblond and the posse are correct. There is some XJ FO in MEM that wears his &hit upside down. I wanted to ask if he's an airline pilot but I figured he would just let me know. How ridiculous......
Second, this big rumor/fact that the XJ guys started-why is the big news off of the snapshot page??????
Third, 9E is trying to get a contract and is busting their a$$. I remember 9E standing behind XJ when they were in negotiations but where is XJ now that 9E is in negotiations? Oh wait, the military has a term for this IGM (i got mine)......Don't get me wrong, I have a very good friend at XJ and he isn't like most of the guys on here. But I have to admit, it's dissapointing when I'm walking through the airport and say "hi" to a XJ guy and they don't even respond. They are so cool.
I thought we were all professionals and are in this career together. But we couldn't be more divided. The truth is we have no and i mean no idea what Delta is going to do. THe proof is Comair. SO, until they do whatever it is they are going to do why don't we all stand together and support each other.

All the XJ guys I know (or have met) have all been friendly, professional, and in no way "cocky" about anything. You don't always get a "hello" or a friendly-nod back from a red-tail when you're wearing a CP uniform, but Mesaba is definitely the exception to that. Thanks guys - I hope you do well!

Actually the -900 guy Airsupport is talking about is dead serious. I was at Lenny's and he was behind me. When I politely informed him his epaulets were backwards (thought he might have been too fatigued to notice), he looked me dead in the eye, rolled his eyes at my ignorance, and said, "uhhh because I'm on the -900". I almost peed my pants I was laughing so hard. I asked if I could buy his lunch because I've never had the honor of meeting a real-life jet pilot.
I know of no one at XJ who wants to hurt other companies to get flying - not even Mesa. I certainly don't.
The foul way NWA has manipulated us the past 6 years is truly horrible and NO ONE should have to go through it. I find our current situation positive, however all of the 5+ year pilots know that airplanes can be taken away without any notice or cause. Anyone who has not lived under NWA's shadow is in for a rude awakening.
While we are Delta, don't ever forget that the roots of the NWA management run deep and I'm sure the employee relations that NWA had with XJ and Pinnacle will continue to be the standard and not the exception. Pre-existing Delta Connection carriers are in for a real eye opening experience. Contracts won't be what they are perceived to be (80% of ATL lift, hope it lasts - don't be surprised when it changes).
Today XJ is growning, tomorrow we could furlough 600 pilots. We have nothing to brag about. Now it's all about what big D wants.
I have said it before and I will end with this statement again: NONE of US are secure in our flying, wholly owned or contract. It is going to be a very bumpy ride for all us.

I wasted my time reading this thread when I could have listened to my wife complain and moan all night. There never was or is an FO who wore their stripes upside down. One guy did it one day in MSP on accident. I swear, people on this board act like they are in kindergarden.

above link didn't work for me.
Here's another link to their 10Q:
DELTA AIR LINES INC /DE/ (Form: 10-Q, Received: 10/16/2008 17:07:16)
I assume you were referring to this section,
CRJ-900 Financing
We and our wholly owned subsidiary, Comair, have entered into agreements to borrow up to an aggregate of $580 million to finance a substantial portion of the purchase price of all CRJ-900 aircraft which have been delivered or which remain on firm order as of September 30, 2008. We guarantee payment on behalf of Comair. Our obligations under these debt agreements are secured by the underlying aircraft.
A separate loan for each CRJ-900 aircraft is issued upon delivery of that aircraft. Our obligations under these agreements will be due in installments over 15 years after delivery. The loans under these agreements will have various maturity dates and bear interest at a floating rate based on LIBOR plus a margin.
As of September 30, 2008, a total of $392 million of borrowings were outstanding under these agreements.

As a 5 year Comair FO with no upgrade in sight, all I can say is ARRRGGHHH!
