I'm a MEM 900 guy and have never heard of the epaulets thing, nor would I ever participate in such a ridiculous fad. I would not want people to know that I'm brand new to the airline and have not bleed and struggled like my fellow mesaba brethren. I can not attest to the ignorance of one FO, but I can tell you that at my short experience at mesaba (hire date of 3/10/08) I have yet to meet a truly terrible person, nor have I ever met a truly cocky one. I can say that there is some segregation between MEM Saab guys and jet guys, but that is mostly due to the A19 fishbowl being so far from the B gates. The Saab guys are awesome and I really wish I was more a part of their tight click. I try to spend as much time as possible down at A19, but still notice some jet guys being treated like outsiders. It is tough to be new, and I understand that, but distinguishing yourself as a "900 guy" is only going to burn bridges with people who have been at XJ for a long time. P.S. The Saab Rocks!

Oh and moderators, can this thread die now, this is total rumor and will be turned into an xj hype or xj bash material in about 15 posts.

how is it total rumor when 2 people have seen it with their own eyes? No need to get upset if it wasn't you wearing them, we know not everyone is a tool...
I'll be the first to poke fun of those type people at my airline. It's not a bash XJ thing, it's a bash "god's gift to aviation attitude" thing.

If it’s not a rumor then why I do not see an official announcement from Delta or Mesaba?

To recap:

1) 2 guys saw upside-down epaulets being worn by 900 FOs in Memphis (albeit, it might have been the same guy on both occasions, and he might be the only XJ guys who does such a ridiculous thing)

2) This thread was originally about Xj getting 900s, for which there have been zero official announcements or press releases

The funny part is that the XJ guys reject this rumor that a 900 FO would do such a thing, yet they wholeheartedly accept the rumor (which has much less evidence) that they're getting all these 900s. This is evidence of a theory called "confirmation bias" which basically means people point to things that support what they want to believe and ignore evidence that supports things they don't want to believe).

I don't care who wears what where, and who flies what where....I just want to see XJ and 9E back to where we were when 9E pilots were picketing for XJ pilots in solidarity when things were good here, and XJ was getting screwed...do you guys care about our union's fight for a better contract over here at 9E? Would you guys stand in a picket line with us on an off day in Memphis? If the answer is yes, then "you're my boy blue" if not, then get off your high horse and lookup the history of your airline and ask some of the way senior guys how many 9E guys were on the line with them....it was more than a few....

"Oh and moderators, can this thread die now"

If you think a post violates TOS, it's best to report it using the red triangle thingy in the lower left corner of the screen. Make your case as to why the post violates TOS.

If you want the thread to die, stop posting.

To NicholasBlonde- "You are my boy blue" I'll be there for you, and would have been there on previous events in MEM if not for other arrangements. Sorry. Many guys over here are ready to dust off the old picket signs. God Bless, it is your struggle today, and I have no doubt it will be ours soon.

To de727ups- I apologize sir, this post does not violate TOS, and therefore should not be closed. It is however wildly off topic, riddled with rumor, and now filled with language that lumps an entire pilot group into an untrue stereotype (" people are mostly bugged about is the SNOTTY attitude a lot of mesaba guys have. ESPECIALLY when I am in the memphis airport and I see those SILLY mesaba fo's"). I can see this will turn into a gojet type thread that will breed only ill will for everyone involved. I'm sorry for not heeding your warning and continued to post, I am SILLY and a glutton for punishment.

Mooney, Airsupposrt, Nicholasblonde.....please. How many times have we heard one of you guys post about some -900 FO who had his epaulets upside down? Its getting kind of old.

Nicholasblonde, you talk about confirmation bias, why dont you look in the mirror.

If you dont believe the rumor, then dont come to the page. Regardless if there has been an official announcement, all signs at XJ point to more aircraft coming.
