HAHAHAHA thanks man, we appreciate it. Look, we are all pulling for you 9E guys to get a new contract. And we are gonna be happy when you get it done. We wont think you guys are gonna be bragging/arogant about your new pay rates/work rules that will probably be better than XJ's.

Don't you not have true block or better? Like, it has to be half an hour or more over block to get extra money? Just pointing out that pay rates aren't everything, though I'm not familiar with both 9E and XJ contracts.

The numbers are higher, but with our work rules, we probably break even or come out slightly ahead. At least you guys have a separate pay scale from the 200 which is something we should have at XJ.

First off, the "name" means nothing to you. I found it unfortunate that I, potentially, will be paid by Delta, not the opposite.
Second, twenty plus years in the industry and two advanced non-flying aviation degrees. Write to me when you are even in the ballpark. Sorry bubba, first airline job was in '88.
Third, simply reinforcing fact and pointing out incredible hard headidness. I really don't care if ANYONE believes the incredibly minor fact that Mesaba is getting more airplanes / flying or not but to publically dismiss advance information for no other reason than spite is so damn aggravating and ignorant.
Why is sharing info and dismissing childish banter from spiteful individuals considered cocky? (Rhetorical - No need to post....we already know). I hope EVERY airline gets another 10+ airplanes. My God people.
Bored, you're right. Simply trying to put the "haters" in their place only to unearth more.
..and all this dissmissal of information and banter over something so simple and stupid as Mesaba getting airplanes. I didn't know this was so earthshattering.

bornc7d may just not be able to comprehend what's you're saying...let alone be able to write back using decent English.

There are so many wrong things in this thread, I shouldn't even bump it, but....
Who cares if we get these airplanes or not. First off all the aircraft that we have recently gotten only gets us back to the number of airframes that were on property when I hired in. There has not been GROWTH so far, just replacements.
To compare our pay (on a concessionary contract) to other carriers that just signed a contract (ASA) is unfair. Compare your contract to our 2004 agreement that we are "snapping back" to starting in DEC.
10 year ASA 700 CA (70 seats) = $81
10 year XJ 900 CA (76 seats) (starting DEC. 1) = $81
10 year XJ 900 CA (76 seats) (contract 04 "fully snappedback") = $88
Granted we will not fully snapback until 2010
As for the blended FO rate, I'm sorry. It happened before me, we all wanted to correct it in the contract and concessionary contract, it just didn't happen.
Seniority is next... Other than the street CA's (Saab only) the majority of the Saab CA's were hired prior to '05. Other than the few that made it prior to the seatlocks being released, the majority of CRJ 200 and 900 CA's were hired prior to '00. This is not a "junior" airline (yet) and to say that we are inexperienced in any way is ludicris.
Most other regionals were growing and prospering while XJ slowly shrank and lost aircraft and domiciles. You may not have been in the industry when that was happening or just didn't know that it had happened, but we have already felt the pain you are now experiencing. A lot of other regionals showed their support for us during those difficult times and I hope we reciprocate.
Now to our SJS newhires... Slow down, concentrate on learning how to fly the aircraft and becoming an effective CA. You guys have won the aviation lottery, you are young enough that you will have the opportunity to fly whatever aircraft you want for whatever company you want. This is an opportunity those hired in from the mid 80's till now have not had. You will upgrade and move on soon enough, until then quit telling me how you have already applied too and are hoping for an interview with the same airline that I have been trying to get on with for 5+ years.
