no but I did hear they were finalizing a code share with Air Canada. They will be flying the E170 to Mexico from Toronto.

Horizon=Currently furloughing, reducing fleet.
Alaska=Threatening to furlough, reducing fleet.

So you are suggesting you would like to kick a few more of our guys to the street? Careful what you wish for.

Did I say that? No. I said "would be nice to get a few more of our guys off the street". I don't want anyone to lose their jobs. Don't confuse the two. Don't do what you can to take a positive statement and make it a negative one. RAH is currently furloughing, reducing fleet as well. Unless I say "I'd like to see more of your guys kicked to the street" then I don't mean it. I mean what I wrote. Don't go telling me what I'm suggesting or thinking. If that was what I wanted to say I would have said it.

If you have that kind of attitude then there's not a single regional that can get flying without rubbing elbows with another.

Horizon managment said many times they were considering bringing in a cheaper third party carrier to replace "planned" jet reductions. I wouldn't put it past them one bit.

I understand it was a positive statement, but my first gut reaction to it was "Yes more jobs for RAH and more furloughed guys at Horizon and Alaska."

I understand you didn't mean it that way though. No harm.

I just saw it as a growth statement. If Alaska goes with RAH it'll be for an aircraft that can do things the Q400 can't. A different market. The rumors have been floating around about them taking advantage of our new HNL based birds. Who knows.
