Delta had a lot of people that are hired after 6 months. If you flunk the interview part, you are "no thanks" for good. If you flunk any of the tests, you can wait 6 months and give it another try.

Well got a thanks but no thanks letter, guess I'll wait till spring to have my resume walked in at Pinnacle and Compass instead... maybe that'd make a difference, I don't know, but I do think it's an absolute slap in the face to me to call candidates with less experience than me "more qualified", as far as I'm concerned anyone coming out of JetU or any other "0 to hero" school, is in fact not more qualified, but less, flame if you like.

I know of someone who interviewed with Mesaba, did not meet their expectations, went through the 6-month wait period for Mesaba and was hired the second time around...

I'm on the same boat with you. I'll guess I'll stay at my current instructing gig till Q1 next year... I'm waiting on ASA, but Pinnacle sounds good at this time too

Oh, so this is how it is 'supposed' to be, eh.

When, and if, you ever make it to the majors, I would like you to bring this up during your interview and do please tell them you will not accept hourly wage for flying as F/O on B757 that is the same for the B737 F/O.

Mesaba looks at everything not just experience...Degree, Professionalism, Attitude, etc...they probably even look on here and see what people write...

I agree, they probably should look at those, at least the first three, not sure about the fourth one, but that being said, they can't really tell who I am here. Now the first one I have 3/4 of and I'm finishing online, the second two... I hope you don't think they can really tell this from me filling their questionnaire. I'm not entitled to a job, but I do feel I at least deserved an interview, based on the fact of my experience, but I'm not beating myself up about it, I just think it's inappropriate for them to tell me I don't meet their requirements when I meet or exceed all published requirements.

You definitely can tell from an application how professional an individual is, whether it's from the format of their Resume and cover letter (or lack thereof) or the exactness and pertinence of the information carried within. Secondly, a degree definitely DOES make a difference. If you think it's fair to disqualify somebody because they only meet the requirements where you exceed them by, say, 400 hours, is just as arbitrary as saying that they'll only accept people with degrees. In fact, you say it is inappropriate for them to tell you that you don't meet the requirements, however it says right on their website "§ High School Diploma (College preferred)".

Like people have said, it's a blended picture that they get from your application packet. People get in with different hours, different degrees, different backgrounds, but to say that it's inappropriate not to receive an interview is fairly brash on your part. While you say that you don't feel entitled, you certainly come off as such, and perhaps that came through in your application.
