Mesa fact corrections - Days Off
While I'm one not to defend Mesa's actions and those that choose to go there in recent years, there is one misconception about them that I think people need to stop.
From what I see Mesa does NOT only get 8 days off a month. They have 28 day bid periods, which is 13 for the year. Their 8 days off are per bid period. Can we please stop saying they only get 8 days off a month. I know its just a minor detail, but it makes it seem worse than it really is. Plus their line holders get 10 days off per bid period which makes that more than 10 days off per month. If I'm not mistaken some other regionals only get minimum 10 days off per line holder, which would be less than Mesa's pilots.

What exactly was the point of this rant? Mesa is still one of the worst, if not the worst regional airlines in existence. Do you think having 10 days off instead of 8 really changes that?? I hope all mesa pilots find better jobs someday because that is a sinking ship with a total dead beat at the helm.

Because he's probably a Mesa guy trying to defend his company... probably a new hire too; and just doesn't know any better yet. But he shouldn't stop there... it isn't just Mesa... it's RAH, Peanuckle, TSA and all the people willing to fly in somebody elses colors for less money.

Because if you guys are going to rip on someone all the time, at least try not to distort the truth.
Never have been, never will. But thanks for the laugh though. If you'd know me, you'd know I am one of the most outspoken people against going to Mesa. I have gotten heated exchanges with former students, telling them not to go there as they drag the industry down.
It's funny though, because I work at ExpressJet, so I am very aware at how lower cost regionals have forced us into furloughing and soon to be paycuts.
I will let you guys go off on Mesa all day, I just prefer people not to stretch a lie to make a point. Mesa has plenty of bad things going on for them, just stick with the facts.

It's close to something that I read about ALPA. They never like defending a pilot with a DUI, but it's their job to make the company prove their justification for the firing.
To tell you the truth, I feel stupid for making this thread anyways.
