Ok, that's fine. but wearing your hat inside FedEx Kinko's?? Come on!!
I have had to run into stores going to/from work before, but I don't go in there with my hat, tie, ID and blazer on!
I guess it is ok to make fun of the TSA "smurf" that wears his uniform in stores, but as soon as I make fun of a pilot for it, it is wrong.

I know that most regional airlines are quite relaxed and some don't require hats. A lot of guys don't like hats. But those airlines that do require them, or pilots that choose to wear them should not be mocked for upholding the professional image of the profession.

I'm confused about when you are suppose to wear the hat and not wear the hat. If you wear in INSIDE the airport why would you not wear it INSIDE the Kinkos? Do you have the same rules about wearing a hat (or cover in my current language)? Seems simple to me - presently you do NOT wear a cover indoors. Is each airline different?

I don't understand how it is okay to make fun of the TSA for wearing their uniforms in public places outside work, but not pilots, no way. We are soooo much better, and have to hold up a professional image yadda yadda yadda...

[QUOTE]That seems to be the problem then - no standardization.
Sorry - coming from the military side I expect that if you are wearing a uniform then it would be pretty straight forward when you should and should not wear your hat.

I know it is 100% different in the military, but this isn't the military.
I'm not trying to start a pi$$ing contest, just pointing out the irony that it seems to be okay to make fun of the TSA, but not okay to make fun of ourselves as airline pilots.
