Can't substaniate, but certainly not a shock. Management has made no secret that running only 16 -900s is not profitable, and only becomes profitable at about 30 airframes or so. They've been trying to get more Delta flying since the day they first signed the contract.

I find it hard to believe that DAL would give them more flying due to the pending merger. I know what will happen to 9E is being debated in a different thread, but the consensus there is that DCI is going to be quite fat on a/c. 200's especially and the amount of 70 seat a/c is going to be limited due to scope clauses. Which is a good thing, the more mainline flying the better!!!
