no. all it would have ment is hardship and displacements for junior guys. so what we would have had was pilots that live in atl commuting to mem, while guys who live in mem would have been displaced to atl. all we would have done was shot our selves in the foot if no one would have bid atl. they have the provisions in the contract to force people to go there. so why not let the guys who have been commuting with 10 days off a month get a break for a change.

Only speculation. I sincerely hope DL is not going to dangle carrots for us all to bicker over. I feel bad for the comair folks- talk about getting jerked around. I have yet to see or hear from any of my good "Sources" ( just try me when asking who) that there is any new flying other than simply proposals. We all know there are numerous Q400 proposals being sent in as well as RFP's in the event of a liquidation by a certain regional that is headed by a man with an ego who's head is bigger than a door frame. Until anything official is announced letting speculation fill these threads only leads to chest thumping and arguments between carriers who are in this career together under the same ALPA banner and claim to "stand united" yet slash each other at the knee caps... Sorry I am approaching rant mode....
What the Pinnacle pilots should look forward to is upcoming negotiations starting monday in DC. All the lurkers from other carriers should stay up to date with the negotiations as well- If things are successful we show the industry how high the bar is now set, if unsuccessful we show every member of the 121 world how both the NMB, political system, and "industry standard" have changed. This is a rather broad statement but think about the main point that it all represents in your individual situation. Obviously things cannot "change" in a few days in DC, but it should be a pretty good indicator.

Soooo we should behave selfishly and slow down or EARN our pay increases??? I just want to make sure I understand your position, because it sounds like you want us to lay down, kick and scream, while management drags us across the floor. I would think that most of us would rather EARN our right to a fair contract by behaving FAIRLY.

Keep being the professional. I have never heard being "unprofessional" as the way to get what you deserve. This goes right to the mantra of "dress for the next job, not the current"- keep performing to the best of your ability and we will (eventually) have a contract benefiting those who are professional.

Don't worry... There are more folks out there. Being by the book and trying to screw the company are two different categories. That being said I am not one to "help out" with picking up the open time, dropping the brake without a cargo slip, opening the galley door, etc. Truth of the matter is there has been little or no excuse lately- and there won't be until the winter weather arrives. Hourly employees are ruled by fear and mgmt is great at making everyone think the "sky is falling". That being said- CONTRACT NOW!
