You sir are what's wrong with pilots association. Way to go and take comfort in others pain. Instead of supporting you are ridiculing.

Im with USAIR. Get rid of the jokers. Do it yourself!

I don't think SilverandSore is reveling in our failure...I think he's just stating the facts--safety campaigns (ahem, not illegal work actions) get contracts signed, great performance numbers don't. We thought we knew better, and we thought it would be different this time but it's the same old game and the same old playbook.

ASA is the definitive case study--we have much to learn from them, so any constructive criticism any ASA pilots have to offer on here should be welcomed with open ears.

Hey man I fly at ASA and I had said to slow it down to the 9E folks and all of my comments came back with criticism and some people even told me it was unethical.

This is why I hate these threads that are started by a rumor. Everyone seems to have a "source" that is rock solid. Well, I have a "source" too, and it told me that we are going to get bought by Aer Lingus and we are going to do regional flying for them out of Dublin. Our name is going to be Cuni-Lingus.

You think you're the only one that got that? That's 9E biggest problem. Aside from our union our pilots are the pilots' biggest problem.

We have quiet little moles. They stay under the radar and make sure everything is done according to every whim the company comes up with every day via memos, FAA approved books etc.

Good luck to us all.

As for my earlier post... Non tracable? I say why? We are pilots and as such we take care of each other's backs. From now on, every Monday there will be "Safety seminars" hopefully given by our union three times a day. Those safety seminars will teach every pilot how to go about their jobs with the maximum emphesis on safety and minimum emphesis on corporate target goals. Every pilot will be required to attend.

Easy?

As for batphone, airinc etc etc.... no where in my book does it say "use your cellphone to call dispatch". If our company pages say only ACARS is available at a certain airport, we should do just that. Use ACARS. No reply ? tough luck. 30 minutes pass, 60 minutes pass, 90 minutes pass.... at some point hopefully someone will realize that an airplane didn't take off. If not, how unfortunate.

Poor passengers! I agree this was the last straw. Its just not fair for the paying people in back though. Us pilots get stuck between a crapy mangement and everyday Americans just trying to travel. Nothing will change unless we change our ways though.

Now that I think of it. I think we should leave the passengers out of it and visit Phil with a baseball bat.

In case you hadn't noticed, the subject of this thread has changed a little... we are no longer talking about the rumor I heard. We are now talking about contract negotiations, and everything that has been said about that is fact. That being said, I did get a good laugh out of your post. BTW, the original point of this thread... the extra Delta flying... turns out that the CVG stuff mentioned is what I initially heard. Now that the question is finally answered, everyone can go back to their plotting and scheming.

Now, after this last meeting in DC, they'd probably be dying to tell us not to move a finger. Anyways, I think it's time we start doing our own thing and slow things down. Let's make sure we keep ALPA clean out of this. We still need a serious UNION that "plays" by the rules, but us........let's go for it !

-FLEX........Flex who?
-Single engine Taxi........what is that? never heard about that before
-APU minimal use........I didn't know we could shut that thing down...
-MCT..... yeah MAX CONTINUOUS THRUST.... cruise
-Contingency fuel.............. ohhhh we need plenty of that so start calling dispatch often........don't use cellphones, use the batphone....much slower and you can put the delay report on fuel....
-FOs: anything you find make sure MX comes and takes a look at it. I only accept new tires, make sure they are shiny if not they'll need replacement. Sure they'll refuse to change them, but hey, it was worth the delay for "safety reasons".
-Commissary, LAV service, call last second and don't leave without it. Put the dealy on that.
-Close the door, block out, and don't ever leave without numbers.
-No more 15 min turns, if you are scheduled for a 30 min turn, that's how long it's going to take..........
-Let's have massive request to drop trips, sure, they'll be denied, but our contract says that any request needs to be reviewed one by one and answerd, so at least let's keep them busy........
-VERY IMPORTANT: stop checking in for your trip. Turn your cellphones off and let crew scheduling figure out if you made it or not. Sure bunch of MEMOS are to follow, but we can always blame that on those old crapy computers, can't we? sure we can call them, but make sure you hang up before they answer (the call would be registered in the system)

Again, let's make sure we keep ALPA out of this. This is our own thing, and let's play nasty.

I'm sure there's plenty of ideas, so let's spread the word......

any ideas?
Im with you and Ill be spreading the word, starting NOW.

THE ONLY WAY THIS WORKS IS IF WE ALL DO IT.
