Is $7500 enough to keep guys there? Seems like a waste of money. If the transition to AA was reasonable and bonus payouts kept your salary close or higher than a LCC I could see it paying off unless DAL or UAL called. I'd go there over AA in a heartbeat unless you live in Charlotte or Dallas.
But with a long flow and pay at or below LCC on year two or three, I'd be bailing for SWA, JB, even Spirit personally if you were several years away from flowing.
The only way bonus payouts would keep people there is if they created a 'golden handcuffs' situation.

Sorry, I didn't ask my question correctly about the $7500 for captains. I know that all of the WOs gave $7500 to their captains on property in the pay raise announcement, I was asking about the $7500 for new hires who upgrade to captain shortly after coming to Piedmont. I asked my friend who is there, and he said that was put in just for Piedmont because the 1 year upgrade for pilots hired now means they wouldn't be FOs long enough to get all the FO retention bonus. So upgrade fast = $7500 extra bonus or stay FO = get FO retention bonus. That's my understanding.

How many started class today? How is the jet/dash split going to be? Last class was all dash. I hear people saying it will be all jet, but is anyone in class today that want to chime in and give us more info?
Im on the December 5th class as well. Not sure if there will be another class on December or not.
