PDT News and Rumors

Not going to lie I would be "Tweaked" if PDT gets their 200's back.... because I would have a job.. I would have rather it been in addition to the planes they lost though.
What equipment should PDT get "tweaked" over just curious. CRJs with a pay cut? I rather get the 200s keep our pay bring everyone on the streets back and hire some more.

Heyas,
My point is that PDT will NEVER change. Not one iota. It will never be a place where you can get your time and move on, because it TAKES forever to move up 10 places. There is, and never will be any growth or flow through.
When I was there in 93, we were told that FloridaGulf (Mesa) would only be taking the "unprofitable routes"
When I was there in 95, we were told flow through was "imminent"
When I was there in 96, we were told that the dozens of RJs that Mesa had just ordered would come no where near the USAir system.
When they merged with ALG, did they double in size? No...they got rid of half their lift.
Did PDT, the more "mature and experienced" operator with the best operational stats and one of the first airlines anywhere with AQP get the RJs that finally did come to the wholly owneds? No, they went to the low cost operator that was flying Jetstream 31s under part 135 only a few years before.
The only reason that any of the above was tolerable was PDT had one of the top contracts in the country and desirable crew bases. Now those are gone, too.
Point is, PDT serves an extremely limited nitche within LCC. It will never be more than what it is. You guys are hearing all the same promises guys have been getting for the last 20 years there, and nothing has changed one bit.
I didn't mean to belittle your news. In PDT terms, a 5 or 6 net gain of airplanes certainly is BIG news.

almost like their trying to become a niche regional airline like...america west? But of course what else would their wonderful managment know.

Almost as much as the remaining 55 PSA pilots who have been on the street well over a year.

I'm thinking if PDT gets some increased flying because of MESA tanking, PSA would get even more. Think about all that 900 flying that will need to be replaced, and PSA is already perfectly positioned in CLT to take it over. The only trick is airways finding cash to pay for the replacement aircraft. Just like our situation at PDT, I hope they don't go with a contract carrier like AWAC or RAH over the wholly owned.
Who knows, PSA could be the only wholly owned that ends up getting new flying. After all, you guys have a much younger, and lower paid pilot group, with aircraft that require less maintenance.
PDT/PSA= Wholly PWND

Just got my last paycheck today in the mail. *** Why couldn't they just direct deposit it? I dont get mail until around 1:30pm and the banks closed today at 1pm. Now I have to wait until Monday. Thanks Piedmont! On a side note, does anyone know if you can still get unemployment for the week of the 30th? Everyweek I have to report the companies I applied to and it always asks if I made any money.
