Piedmont has only had a flow deal for around 2 years at most....before that there was no hope of flow....it was all Turboprop lifers content telling everyone how superior the Dash 8 was.

I heard American was going to be hiring off the street next year as well, so keep that in mind. It's too bad there wasn't some language in the contract to stop that from happening, then we'd see some real movement.

Hiring from the street will only replace the recalls. The classes will still probably be 50% Flows. You'll either need to be military or have some good contacts. Because after the flow default it will be HIGHLY competitive.

Flow
When I spoke with recruiters, they said Piedmont is flowing 3 (soon to be 4) a month and Piedmont can't restrict that until 2025. Can American Airlines restrict the flow? Does American have to be hiring for flows to keep moving up?

They won't restrict it because it's a recruitment tool. If there was ever a time to come to Piedmont it's probably right now.

The language in the Piedmont flow agreement is extremely clear on this matter. AA cannot restrict the Piedmont flow so long as they have new hire classes.

They can stop it at any time. It will go to arbitration, but that can last for 2 years or more. The arbitrator will eventually find in favor of the pilots, but then the company will offer a settlement.
Look at the history of Airways management and how they do things.
There are absolutely no guarantees.

Well, they can restrict it. They can do whatever they want. A contract with a regional carrier isn't worth the paper that it is written on.

rumor from HR/training is that they are losing 7/mo attrition and 3 soon 4/mo flow. first sep class will be the 4 trigger. so yes people are still leaving w/o flow. six people in newest class. this is every two weeks. they're covering attrition and barely growing.
