PDT News and Rumors

Well considering we would fight to the death for relative seniority, maybe faster lol. That fight would never end...I'm top 40 percent on PDTs list so that's where I should stay. End of story.

Some people make out better, some make out a lot worse.
Either way, it will take a LONG time settle it.

Which is why we need to be seperate. It would be a big fight and a huge mess. Either that or start giving out mainline numbers now, and we can all make our own decision when the right time to go is. Hell I'd wait until I could hold a line in CLT, PHL, or DFW...better for me and PDT because I'd stay longer.

Our last two classes had about 10 in them each adding up to 20 this month. I believe what we really need is at least 35 new hires per month, so we are falling short too. The real problem is, if the 175 isn't offered as a choice, literally no one shows up. All of our classes have been 175 pilots with a few guys taking the CRJ.

PSA has hired and retained 102 pilots since January 1, 2016. More started class and went elsewhere when they got better offers.
In that time, with the new hires, PSA has had a net loss of 13 pilots. Attrition is outpacing hiring.

AAG won't get rid of the flow from its WOs anytime soon. The WOs and their pilot force provide lift at a cost cheaper than Mainline personnel. Expect "cost neutral" to be the theme during contract negotiations.

Doing some rough math looks like pdt is at 62 pilots since Jan 1 2016. I don't know the number that got booted from training or others that left t collect another bonus somewhere else.

My guess is that few if any classes have had 100% completion through soe, which in and of itself isn't a problem, as it's not unusual, but for the sake of growth, the numbers are just barely keeping up with attrition.
My class started with 7 and 2 are gone already.
I feel like a broken record for saying this again, but all they have to do is offer comparable pay to the leading pay scales and another hub base and you'll see the classes grow. The fact that AAG is resisting this indicates to me that they're working on alternative means that don't immediately involve improved pay/bases to address their regional feed needs.
Plus, if they aren't going to grow the pilot list, then either the jets have to stop coming or the dashes need to start leaving sooner than later.
