Can you expand on this please? Are you referring to the increase in flow slots as the seniority list grows?

Yes. Currently Piedmont flows 3/month. If the airline is unable to increase the hiring numbers, they will be stuck at 3/month. Someone joining the airline now will not be eligible for the flow though by the time the contract expires.

From the Permanent Bid, Eff 9-1-16 email. It states that the category freezes will not be waived starting with this bid.

Yeah I'm not sure why it isn't in the chief pilot page yet. It says it is FIL 16-55, but you can only see it on Webmail. It was sent 14 July at 10:58am.

Have we already gone thru the entire seniority and hiring directly into the jet now?wait I know a few guys wanting to go to the jet in nov/dec. this is not going to go well.

Another smart decision by Piedmont management.
I see new hires being thrown into the jet soon. I don't see the advantage of taking DHC pilots off the line to train on the jet during summer flying. Instead let new hires train for the right seat and lock most into the dash until the summer is over.. Just my thoughts and I'm only a dumb pilot. Most companies have a lock and the lock only prevents someone from jumping back and forth between planes.

A FO can switch to the jet after two years or anytime if they go for the upgrade. Also, an FO can go FO on the jet with the intent that they will upgrade to captain after 3 months of revenue flying as an FO on the jet to allow the person to get used to the jet before they upgrade.

All I know is my seniority just keeps going up.. Which means every monthly bid, my Skd gets better. That being said, even with my grumpiness I'm fairly happy right now.

Can't do this anymore. This section of the contract was modified by LOA 19, and these two clauses were removed. The seat lock is 24 months, unless you get displaced into another position OR upgrade in your current aircraft type. Unless the Company waives the locks, of course.

Okay, I'm considering Piedmont but I have some questions. How does the flow through work? Is five years realistic or is it just a marketing ploy to attract pilots? Is Piedmont's flow through better than Envoy's or PSA's? If a pilot was hired when the flow through was in place and one day, AA terminated the program and the pilot was still at Piedmont, does that pilot still have the opportunity to flow through in the future or is that out the window?

We flow approximately 10 percent of the pilot group a year. We have others leaving for other jobs now as well.. I don't know if five is realistic to flow but technically you have a job at mainline in a back pilot but I would hope to to move to United or delta before my number is up.

Who knows if they were to terminate the flow. I'm sure it alpa would fight it and who knows.
