PDT News and Rumors

Yes, but the flow at Envoy is not predicated on the size of the pilot group (as it is written, anyway, it's been discussed ad nauseum whether or not it will be tampered with). The flow rate at PDT increases as the size of the pilot group increases. I'm sure you're aware of that though. I'm not sure what the purpose of your comment is, unless you and the poster you quoted have some sort of history.

currently 145 FO is about 10 months to hold and dropping every month. Seniority in class is birthday. If you commute on PDT aircraft you have Jumpseat priority. No catch on the bonus, you get it in your first year, I THINK most on your first day of class (not exactly sure). If you quit you keep the bonus no payback.
10k day one, 2500 after SOE and 2500 after 12 months for the bonus.

Envoy's flow is based on how many pilots AA hires. It seems PDT tries to sell their flow by saying they will double in size which then doubles their flow numbers. I feel that is disingenuous.

That is the exact number in our cba. It's roughly 10 percent of the pilot group year. Im currently around 180 numbers to flowing, but it is decreasing because we are losing good captains to other places.. We are losing FOs now to other places as so number are shrinking fast.. I'm very surprised at our rapid movement the last three months.

I understand what your cba states. But what I am asking is, do you feel it is truthful to use flowthrough numbers based on doubling your pilot group when you can barely keep up with current attrition? I also understand that you have good FOs and CAs going to other airlines. That is happening at every airline right now. Do you think PDT is special in that regard?

The only way for PDT to increase in size is to match or beat endeavor pay, have popular basing locations (DC, ORD etc) and have new planes. That won't happen because AAG holds the purse strings to the bonus and controls basing/ aircraft decisions and has been slow to react to its lack of recruitment.
Piedmont is a good place to go if you want to gain seniority quickly- they're flowing 10% of the pilot group a year and many others are leaving to go to other companies (Spirit, Atlas etc.). When I went to one of their Recruitment events it turned out that the only pilot of the four I met that wasn't planning on leaving was the CP. Everyone else had exit plans in the works...

Envoys flow changes to PDT style after all pilots flow that were on property Dec 2014. To say whose flow is faster is very difficult at this point. Needless to say both companies are overselling the flow rates. IF it ever drops below six years it will be a shocker.

It's hard to grow as a turbo prop fleet. To many kids right out of school have this shiny jet syndrome disease and believe they deserve to fly an ejet. Probably not a bad idea for some as they've never seen real imc and need a plane that can hold their hand! I have great respect for people who don't out airframe at the top of their list when looking for an airline. This is my second 121 turbo prop and I am in no rush to fly a jet. Everyone I've met at Piedmont is good people and I wish we could get more here like the ones we already have. I'm quickly seeing why my dad spent 34 years at Piedmont!
