Why wouldn't that? If the guy has the time and passed his type rating then why wouldn't it? What do you want? This has all happened before. Just do the job and have a good attitude. Help each other out. Have confidence in your abilities.

Mistakes are made at every level. But you'll find if you follow SOP's and use common sense at the same time having each others back it will work out fine.

Any truth to the rumors floating around PHL and DCA that the 145 program at PDT has been stopped, at least temporarily?

The rumor was that the FAA was not happy about a portion of the training and some lacking systems knowledge, and that there have been some issues on the line that they are not happy with. Something about unstable approaches and too many ASAP incidents in a short period of time (ATC violations on arrivals primarily).

I don't know if true at all, but that has been the work in the crew rooms in DCA and PHL for a few days now. I even heard people talking about it in PHX.

I wouldn't be surprised. Seems like they tried to get this program together without the help of any outside vendor. Kinda like trying to get a 145 program from a Cracker Jacks Box.

This along with brutal schedules and worn out planes I'm not surprised. Plus people filling out ASAP reports for any little stupid reason can set off the FAA.

If this is true it's going to be very interesting.

I flew turboprops for several years before I moved to jets. I always thought that I was a better pilot when I was flying t-props, but it is a different skill set with a jet.

I am sure that if there are issues, it is not with the pilots on the line, but with the training and systems in place. PDT has been flying ragged old props for years. If the pilots were the problem, it would have been a problem in the Dash's as well.

I don't know where all these rumors came from but all 145 flights were not cancelled this morning. They have cancelled some flights but I believe they are all due to crew shortage. We basically have no reserves so if they can't get the plane into the overnight it usually results in several cancellations.

How many 145's do you have operating now?
