PDT News and Rumors

That's what I've seen on APC too, but I talked to our ALPA furlough guy, GS, and he said we apply where we live. I think it says that on the ALPA website too... So who knows what the correct way is. Sounds like the best thing to do is shop around between Maryland, your base, and your residence and see what you can get away with... As for me, I live in the People's Socialist Republic of Massuchusetts, so I'm hoping they fork out the cash... So far, it looks like a 200 dollar a month paycut to go from reserve income to unemployment income. Pretty sad that they're that close together....

My understanding is you file for unemployment in the state you reside, unless you live in NJ, NY, or CT and work in NYC, in which case you file in NY. Only mildly confusing. I know one person who's going to be making a whopping $300 less on unemployment than he did at Piedmont. That's a testament to the regional pilot pay scale right there. And PDT is "good" when you compare it to Mesa and Colgan.
Good luck to everyone going out on furlough.

the reason we arent pulling out the quebec plates is because pdt does heavy maintenance checks in quebec city, so ive heard. doesnt sound like a good thing when they have us ripping out numerous approach plates.

I was recently at CQ and Pike came in and talked with us. He said the reason for ripping out the plates was because it was a waste of space. He said most of those places like Toledo, Ft Wayne, and Indianapolis, wouldn't even be an option in going there if we needed to. He said it was just easier to get rid of them that way we wouldn't have to do revisions on those airports later.
