3rd e145 is on property this week and goes into revenue March 11.
I'd be willing to take a bet for the 170/175 program announcement end of second quarter this year with the behind the scenes work starting q1 2017 with aircraft on property by q4 2017.
By that time some of the smash 8s will be leaving us...

I'm not saying that it doesn't make sense and that it's not a strong possibility, I'm just saying there's nothing coming from a credible source to support this. I do hope you're right though

Does it make financial sense to bring in a whole other fleet type to PDT, when they have that fleet already set up at another wholly owned (envoy)? Seems like a whole lotta money to get another program up and running, especially when they just finished setting up the 145. Perhaps a merger?

I don't mean to get you all upset. But you are saying these statements like they are fact. Is this what the company officially stated? Or is this your educated guess? I'm just asking questions, not trying to attack.

I don't think you'd be able to upset any Piedmont people since many are just happy to still be flying for their airline.
No there's no facts at all. Only facts we know is that Piedmont is getting 145's. That's a fact. Remember those 145's are high time planes so there's only a few options AAG has in terms of Piedmont. They can't keep flying the 145's so larger RJ's will most likely be in Piedmont future. Really with the pilot shortage why find more 50 seaters? Many have said (rumor of course) the reason AAG has spent the money to get a jet aircraft on the certificate is because larger RJ's were in their future. That's just talk and no facts attached to it at all.
However with the pilot shortage there's also a possibility of also merging Piedmont with another carrier. Nobody really knows at all, but it only makes sense if Piedmont is going to be around for the future the 145's aren't going to be the plane. Don't need a rocket science degree for that one.
The regionals are on rocky times and this year we may see 1 or 2 contract carriers probably shut there doors or get bought up as many majors try and secure flying for themselves.
Should be interesting
