I'm FO reserve in ROA, and for 3/4 of my 5 day reserve periods I've stayed home and not been called on either the first or the last day. It turns into an extra 3 or so days at home. I bid reserve on purpose, even though I could hold a line (the rumors are true, our lines suck). Totally justifies moving into base in my mind. ROA still has reserves, SBY has almost none (if any) and MDT has a few.
How many nights/month are you away bidding reserve? I would think about doing something similar once I get to 1500 (hopefully phl, I already live there).

It isn't? Revenue flights started last week.
Anyways, it's always been the long term plan to bring as much contract flying in house as they can post merger. This really shouldn't be a surprise to anyone.

AFAIK nothing official has ever been said regarding AAG's ultimate plan for regional feed. Does it seem logical? Yes, but your post is just conjecture on your part.

I will not quote the guys the told me everything I know. But everything in my past posts about how this would play out has been correct and that information comes from them. If you don't like that I really, really don't care...

I was told AAG has slated 100 EMJs for us. But dude we cant even staff more than 1 new jet a month at a time. If piedmont wants to get serious about growth they are gunna need to forget the small company business model and become a corporation. The regional i left had 100 instructors that could push out 60 pilots a month when i got hired and with only 3 sims. PDT needs to stop worrying about saving pennies and just load up our infrastructure.

RAH will continue to operate all or most of 170/175s they currently operate through the bankruptcy. This bankruptcy was a way for them to shed the leases and contracts on their Q400s and 145s. That said, it's still a possibility in the distant future that PDT will operate 175s. For now the plan is to make Piedmont the primary 145/140 operator for AA with approx 80 aircraft transferred from Envoy in the next few years.
The one thing you have to understand is that these long term plans can change daily. Nothing is set in stone.
