I don't know what they are doing because there's really no communication. And I don't mean to sound negative or act like I know anything because I don't but I see things in ways from being here for so long. I really hope the flow goes up a lot like said but I'm glad I express my views here so people that are smarter than me can change my perspective.

I'm curious how many Sims other airlines are running relative to our size.

Here are the real facts at pdt now, I'll be really brief.
• 3 flow a month to AA soon to be 4 with a growing list
• upgrade are down to 1 year for those with the requirements
• 350 pilots from last year to now 450
• first 145 arrived early this month with soe captain training early Nov
• our health care insurance will go up next year with more delivery of the 145s (still cheaper than most out there)
I can list more but u got the idea...one really bad thing about us and I have to be completely honest here is our schedule, expect only 11-12 days here for atleast 1.5 years.
Best of luck!

The schedule thing is very true. Don't expect anything more than 11 off for 10 years. And they are only 2 days off at a time. And they have really started this start early on day 1 and finish late on the last day stuff too so commuting will be hard. I would love to see a lot of people here but please get the real facts. Try not to be too blind on the flow. People here 7+ years are still looking at 3 years to flow. But then again there are people here with 4-5 years with 3 years to flow also. Yes upgrade time is down to 1 year but so are other jet carriers. It will be hard for a little while to even think of new hires upgrading on the jet. The first bid went to captains with 20 to 25 year experience.

Here's a rough estimate for looking at flow. Envoy is projected to flow 300-400 out of pilot group of approximately 2000. Average it out at 350 and that's 17% of our current pilot group next year alone. If PDT bumps up to 4/month with a pilot group of 500-600, that's less then 10% of their total pilot group for next year alone. One has a future flying new aircraft. One has a future flying old beat up 145's. Just sayin'

You guys can complain as much as you want. I came from an airline with 1,300 pilots. No flow. Awful healthcare. Plenty of guys that will NEVER get hired anywhere else. 600 of them will never leave. You just don't understand. And you really think people from pdt and eagle will ONLY go to american? Come on man! Not to mention the almost 100 guys who will never flow from PDT. People are on here trying to paint a picture ... Thats fine. Get on with pdt in the next 3-4 months and you will be happy you did. Im glad i came. Could have held captain at my last company. Gave it up.

Except for the fact that we dont have 500. We have less than 400 with another few hundred to hire.

Is PDT the best thing ever? Hell no. If somebody offered me a job flying a falcon for 100k a year i'm out. Am i gonna stop applying at other majors and jetblue, spirit, virgin etc? No. I'm happy where i switched to. I'm 24 years old. I have time and a plan. I'm sure you do too.

Just because somebody said it doesn't mean its true on APC. It depends on where you live. Flowing to a major is great. But flow is better for quality of life at a regional. You'll have movement. If you haven't been at a regional than im sorry but you just cant understand what that means. I'm not trying to be rude...but understand the fact that if you go to Piedmont in the next few months you will be in good shape. You will upgrade. You will have an opportunity to flow at some point. That doesnt mean that you shouldnt be applying to the other majors. But trust me you will not be upgrading at compass, mesa, skywest, AWAC, or horizon anytime soon. Think long and hard about where you want to live and what the future looks like. Regional 's are a dying breed. It is changing times in our industry. (I think for the better) but right now it's like trying to get on the best pee-wee football team.
