It may work for the 20-30 year old age bracket, but not for the rest. I can see new hire pay being forced up to around $40/hr based on demand and lack of supply. The hourly rate might not be $40, but the add-ons (sign-in bonus etc) will equal that IMHO. And yes, the airlines will still make a profit! They have more to lose by canceling flights due to lack of crews.
Who wouldn't agree. But if you get 40 an hour and crappy work rules and family insurance that's over 700 a month what do you really have?? Good thing about Pdt is we also have bases that are in lower cost of living areas. Know many Fos moved families in those and lived normal lives. Look at the package! Right now PDT's total package has more pluses then minuses. If it doesn't fit your needs don't Apply. It's easy.

What happens if there's any disruption in the country that brings airline movement to a stop? Now you're working a job that only affords you bread and ramen. I don't know why "flow" justifies such low wages. They can still pay you like professionals even with flow.

If something happens that stops movement over the next 10 years you'll have much bigger things to worry about than year 1 pay at a regional

What about year 2 pay? Or even year 2 captain pay for that matter.

What about it? If you got stuck, which is unlikely you are looking at 35 or nearly 60K at min guarantee in year 2...which most will be getting far in excess of due to work rules. We have a lot to offer in addition to pay rates and I expect that to continue for quite some time.

That's just not a lot of money to operate a jet.

Forget the jet part. I fly the same 50 people in a DH3 to some of the same places you do for even less than those e145 CA rates. My responsibility is no less and the airplane is arguably more complex (I've flown both) so I guess nobody here wins right? I'll quit tomorrow! Hehe no I won't, I like it at PDT.

A second year 145 CA would make aprox $68,000 not including per diem. Including would be around $73,400. Will pay aprox $100/month for amazing healthcare (best in the industry).

Second year pay. I wish it was 100k but hey, it isn't.

Who cares really! If it's so bad at a place people won't come right?? Looks like things aren't too bad on our side.

Anyone associated with Piedmont and our history knows that what we have happening right now is absolutely wonderful for everyone involved.
