Correct me if I am wrong, but wouldn't they need to hire several hundred FO's very quickly to allow for a new hire to upgrade in the next 2 years? Can the training department handle 200 a year? To get that kind of growth, classes would have to have nearly 20-25 people per month in them (to account for FO attrition at the bottom and people washing out). Are there enough lines to get that many people through IOE? If so, what happens to all of the FO's that are not flying because all of the lines are going to guys in IOE? It will take over 2 years just to get 1000 hours. How many sims do you have full time? If it is less than 3 (more likely 4 incase of a breakdown), there is absolutely no way that you can train that many people that quickly.
Look at the other airlines that are growing and experiencing problems. What is currently in place to ensure that those don't happen at PDT?
Has anyone that believes that the upgrades will really be that quick looked at the numbers? Be realistic, the only way that growth can happen that quickly, as well as flow to take that many senior people out, is for there to be a steady stream of new people coming in the bottom. Until that is happening, you should not believe that there will be quick upgrades and growth.
At any airline (unless there are street captains or bypassing seniority), you don't upgrade until you are 50% on the seniority list. How long will it take to get to 50% on the list with only 50-60 new hires in 7 months? If there is growth and the increased attrition with the "flow", there needs to be LOTS of new hires.

Here are a few facts currently happening at PDT
1. Upgrades are around 2 years with just the Dash
2. Flow to AAG
3. 145 training are happening now for our instructors
4. New president appointed by AAG
We currently have around 380 pilot on property, this must be taken into account for any potential new hires. If we see any growth, just think about the potential gains.

But you must analyze the situation to see what it really takes to happen. Is PDT set for any growth at all? Can they even begin to handle losing the number of pilots that are expected to go to the "flow"?
When there is a magic trick happening, it is important to watch the hands and not pay attention to the distractions.
I am not at PSA, but I have been watching what they are doing as a cue. They have over 120 line check airmen. New pilots on reserve are flying 30 hours a month due to the large number of new FO's that came in behind them and taking up the flying with IOE. The line holding FO's are averaging 1-2 displacements off of their lines a month (losing 30+ hours of flying time but still being paid for it). It is hard to upgrade quickly when that is happening.
Look at the clues and analyze them for yourself. Don't just believe the management hype. If there is not a system in place, it won't happen.

It'll be Phl and dca to start. They don't wanna announce it cause they still need whiskey to fly for little bit and that's pretty much a guarantee that whiskey will be dumped and we'll be flying their routes, on envoys airplanes, and sublime ask any of us if we care cause frankly we've had props all this time from everyone else undercutting us for jets, what undercutting JET airline do you fly for? We fly props at prop rates you fly jets at prop rates.
