It's possible but it depends on how fast they arrive. The first one won't arrive until approx. Oct and revenue service doesn't begin until Jan. There is a 2 year FO seat lock in the jet, but if they need captains faster than 2 years (I believe they will) your previous time will put you ahead of the pack and the lock is waived.

[QUOTE=RegionalFO;1921643]I have just heard that some guys that have been there 7-8 years say that they still have 4 years to flow.
That makes sense because the flow hasn't even been active a year yet. When the flow began it was 5 years for them. After the 7 year folks we didn't hire for almost 3 years. The next group has been here 4 years.

The Sr guys that aren't flowing are staying for their full pension, live in their outstation base and other QOL reasons. We are flowing around #80 on the list

AAG is pretty upset with the Mesa performance in DFW. As a result they are looking at pulling 140's out of flyable storage to help cover the operation. Does the PDT contract specify 145's? If they need the seats in DFW to cover for Mesa they may down gauge the transfers. I'm not saying that will happen, but it's a possibility.

At Envoy the same situation is developing; again based on them following their public announcements.
Their projections at Envoy are for a 6 year flow to AA and a 2.5 year upgrade.
It's retirement driven flow and added attrition from those going to other legacies or LCC that will keep the upgrades moving; while other places will only have the ones moving on through front doors. Everybody will have people leaving via traditional street hires; but PDT and ENY will have more leaving by flow on top of the traditional route.
Right now Envoy is still fighting with management over work rules; we have some old managers who just haven't realized yet how valuable a commodity a pilot is becoming and they're digging in their heels making life tough while we are renegotiating new reserve work rules and other changes.
PDT and ENY both have great commuter rules and you get hotels in base. At ENY we get in base hotels anytime you were scheduled to overnight. We get hotels before/after trips if needed, and before/after critical coverage OT as well. I think PDT's is very similar to ours too.
You'll hear a lot of complaining from current and former Eagles... Just remember that it's all relative. Yes, compared to our old pay, rules and bas choices the new Envoy blows chunks. However, go compare it to the rest of the industry and we're still better than a lot of places. But it is a shadow of its former self. Work rules can be fixed and are being fixed.
PDT & ENY are good choices, especially if you live in or near a base. PSA will likely eventually get an improved actual flow instead of interviews, so if you're near their base that's an option too.
All the regionals suck; having solid flow as an insurance policy is not a bad thing to have. Pilots have choices nowadays. Corporate, part 91, overseas to name but a few. The regional model is broken and we are all living through its evolution.

If they execute the business plan as publicly announced; then yes it should be under 5 years. A 2 year upgrade would be realistic in that case also.

Most jr CA was hired 3/18/2013. So the 2 year upgrade is already here pretty much...
Is the flow really 3-5 years at Pdt?
5 years is pretty accurate as of right now. There are approximately 285 pilots left on the current list. If 20 percent of that list decline flow or are ineligible at 36 per year you are around 4.8 years for the most junior eligible pilot. As we grow, flow increases to 48 and 60 per year at 475 and 600 pilots respectively, if we can attract that many. Upgrades will soon be at 2 years or slightly less.
