You're wrong there. TYS had the highest load factor last year per the amount of flying done than the other PSA bases. PHL and DCA make no sense as bases as that flying is well covered.

Fly? How do you define fly? We take an airplane from CLT-EWN... We land it and turn around and do it again... Last time I checked the RJ lands just fine in EWN. I know it all stinks man! I really do. But we've been taking planes into EWN/CHO and others where you all have bases. Just like you fly planes into CLT where we have a base.... Again it sucks! EWN crews and rampers are great. I hope they can keep EWN around as a base for ya'll. I mean when are these 7 planes suppose to leave any ways? They had not really said much more about the reductions lately have they?

"Just like you fly planes into CLT where we have a base...."

lol. You're right we have no business flying into a hub. CLT should just be PSA. Screw Mesa, Air Wisconsin, Republic and US Airways they're invading your base! Come on man you know that comparison makes no sense :-P

A base is a base man... You flying into PHL/DCA/LGA all the time that are AWAC bases. AWAC flies into dayton all the time that's an PSA base. Just becuase its a base does not mean that we are the only ones flying into and out of it. RAH has IND/CMH and I know just about everyone but PDT flies into both of those.

Load factor? Are you kidding me? It has NOTHING to do with a base being open and or closed. Load factor also probably has a little to due with the DHD memebers we have on every flight. In addition who told you you had the HIGHEST load factor? Because I'd be willing to bet White Plains had the highest load factor of all the places we fly, should we open a base there?

PHL/DCA/LGA which are hubs for USairways make no sense? Let me enlighten you some. DAY has about 16 PSA Flights a DAY leaving, TYS has about 10 flights a day leaving, DCA 16+ flights a day leaving. So which ones should have the MOST flying and which ones should have the fewest? Last time I checked you want a base where if someone calls in sick on a trip, a reserve can thus take that trip over? But again you know it all my man.

Look at Monday the 29th...

DAY 14 Flights
TYS 11 Flights
PHL 16 Flights
DCA 16 Flights
CAK 7 Flights
CLT 144 Flights

So by those numbers alone, it shows the other bases also would make sense. I sure would be *****d if I was a pax on a PSA flight, I got to PHL and then the crew called in sick. "Oh you have to wait until that crew DHD's a pilot up from TYS which will be in three hours to continue your flight." HUB cities make sense for bases. Let alone how many planes are being over nighted in TYS right now, 3? We currently have 41 rooms a night in CAK for crews... And Tempe wonders why we are so bad with cash at PSA.... Keep in mind if DAY didnt have AWAC doing about 5 flights a day we'd be up to nearly 20 departures a day plus mx flights. Does TYS have mx again? Oh no but CAK does.

I heard that PSA negotiations are going very well and that they have already agreed upon a few things. Piedmont, not so much. Apparently management and our reps are sitting across the table not talking but passing notes that say "Current book" and "No."

EWN PDT people are getting sensitive because it's a spoke and every flight that PSA does is one less for us. Since it's already a small base this translates into a greater threat of closure. Us flying into Charlotte doesn't appreciably impact the existence or size of your base. It's not even close to being a direct comparison in the context of the subject at hand. That's all I'm trying to point out.

We dont want 900's..... Bro sorry but I for one am not voting to bring a 900 on property unless it has a rate of JB. Which isnt going to happen. I'll sit on rsv and be the companies you know what before I vote on 900's coming to PSA. Unfortunately we have a lot of guys on furlough still. No end in sight right now for them. Wish it were different and we'd pull guys from the pool as well but its not happening. All the talks from contract negotiations were that our new VP is a little more open to listening and working with us. That means NOTHING. It was only opening discussions and that was it. When we have a new contract that improves our QOL and many other issues then I will believe negotiations went well. Until we get that TA, things are looking great for Airways in general based on the tone of Doug Parkers crew news last night.

I heard the same but you have to understand one thing. The company is very productive in signing a contract in the current economic state. They figure we will crumble to their demands with no imrovements because if it. If things were good you better believe they'd be dragging their feet. Lets wait and see what the initial proposal will be. My prediction is, not so good

Wow thanks for "enlightening" me. I'm still new here and need all the help I can get.
