Well, they are required to take 4 per month, so it's more than just an interview.

Certainly not the best possible arrangement though.

My understanding is this TA does have a flow in seniority order (no interview). That's about all I know about the TA, although I have heard a few rumors.

How is it bad to vote no? The economy is improving, the airlines are bringing in profits, and the 1500 hour rule has made pilots more of a commodity. Why take less money to fly an airplane with more passengers?

You're right, let's just keep throwing the industry down the toilet. What corporation makes their employees take a pay cut to buy the tools necessary for performing a job?

Heck of a first post there, but I do agree with you.

48 of under a 500 list of pilots as of January 2014 will be AA pilots. The agreement is working as the company said it would.

I agree.Remember Parker said there's no difference between the 319/320/321. He figured they should all be paid the same. Wonder how he feels about the 170/175/190 being paid the same?

If you watch the crew news it's simple that Parker doesn't want any lifers at the WO's. He wants you to go there work a 5-7 years and move on to mainline.

Piedmont will vote what they feel is right. Remember this pilot group has been beaten down for over 10 years. While we won't roll over completely I have a feeling we will pass something that looks okay and secures a future for our junior pilots and allows our very senior group to ride of in the sunset. Especially if the retirement grievance is won.

However looking at payrates is not completely the right thing to do. Workrules, Healthcare, QOL.. This all insure a good pay credit and actually money in your pocket. Just look at the Republic folks.... Once you figure in all that our FO's and many Captains are making more money flying a 37 seat Turbo Prop compared to them flying a bigger 175.

TA should be out today

.

Are they still being "withheld indefinitely" or are they actually being sent to US?

Total compensation can be presented to an employee in multiple forms, not just hourly pay. When you Look at the difference between American Airlines and their regionals, its apples and oranges when you include the benefits.

If 170/175/190 all lived at American, I would think a minimal dollar difference would be ok for the 1 year you are going to fly it before holding a 737 or whatever.
