You guys need to lighten up lol. I've been here going on 7 years, and yes it is tough. Unfair? No. I even decided to join the training department last year (guess who I am). While I won't comment on any of the issues above we have a fantastic pilot group, and great instructors. In the past 3 months our Union Reps have commented several times to me in and outside of class how great things have become in the training department (Call your reps). It is a reality in our industry that some people will not make it through training. It is a reality that some people will not do well in recurrent. Nobody gets singled out personally by anyone, that's what standards are for. As for other realities. We have a dwindling, aging fleet of dash-8s that nobody wants to fly right now. That makes it hard to attract enough candidates to counteract the "Normal" wash-out rate. This forum like most review sites are full of the 10 people that feel they were wronged somehow. They take full advantage of anonymity to wrongfully accuse those who fought daily to get these guys through. So please, if you have any issues we have a open-door policy. Call us. Come down and take a sim ride. Sit through some of our classes. But please do not use this site to make yourself feel better at somebody else's expense. Its not fair to those who are actively working hard to get through this program, or the 100s of guys that get the job done everyday out on the line. They deserve the respect.
Enough of that! See the rest of you at recurrent!

You..and I don't care who the heck you are, are biased...period. You are one of those guys that never saw what some of those SOB's have pulled with your own eyes so of course...it didn't happen.
"Nobody gets singled out personally by anyone" if there has ever been a statement made that was 100% grade A unadulterated BS on this MB...this is it.
Unbelievable!

This post angers me. One, because the absoluteness of the nativity. And , two, because you have just called a helluva a lot more people than 10 liars!

Whoever "BS" is, he's diluted, and another company apologist.
Heck, he said he joined the training department. What else would we expect...

But RM has the same problem that every other good evaluator down there has...he wants to keep his training dept job. So looking the other way gets addictive. They all go native in the end. They only stand up or walk away when their lifetime Bullshat reservoir overflows I think. I don't why RM's hasn't yet but it probably will sooner or later.
At least a few did stand up though. One of the guys who was warning pilots when they were in the cross-hairs of the Dynamic Doo Doo Duo got let go when they found out, and another one resigned because he couldn't stomach the blatant "individualized special check rides" that were commonplace.

Even an outside observer reading these posts would be able to use deductive reasoning that all is NOT well with culture of this airline. PDT has suffering, "A death from a thousand paper cuts". I have seen this before, and it is a very sad.

While I think Piedmonts TD has multiple issues, RM is not one. I will never say a bad thing about him. He is a good instructor, fair evaluator and in my opinion the best instructor they have. The problem with the TD is not the instructors, its the management.

I don't know much about him he started in training after i was gone. I met him one time as he was jump seating on a flight I operated, seemed like a good guy though.
