If steam gauges really are that important to somebody, than go to SkyWest and fly the Brasilia. Awesome training department that wants you to succeed, and $37/hr after year one. Again, if even some of these stories are true about PDT, I wouldn't even consider risking my career.
I've been waiting for years to have Piedmont's abusive testing department get kicked in the teeth. And now, with the new FAA pilot requirements, it's finally happening. They can't even get anyone to talk to them at a job fair. SF, JK, MM, and JP's abusive actions which are showcased all over the internet, have taken their toll. Unfortunately, some good aviators had their careers marred in the process.
Karma, at last.

Sadly, the Piedmont horror stories are true.

I'd like to add one more comment in agreement that MK is a good guy. While I'm no longer around Piedmont, he's definitely the real deal and will stand up for guys. His family is a legend at US Airways, and his father is still very highly regarded there among senior pilots for his work as MEC Chairman.

I disagree with comments about MK. He is a good, and decent person with a great deal of compassion and caring for the pilots here. He had every reason NOT to hire me, but he did. He is a manager, and he believes in the DASH-8 being a good place for a young pilot to build experience. I worry more about embarrassing him than I do failing in training, I respect him that much.

Wowsers...
You guys need to lighten up lol. I've been here going on 7 years, and yes it is tough. Unfair? No. I even decided to join the training department last year (guess who I am). While I won't comment on any of the issues above we have a fantastic pilot group, and great instructors. In the past 3 months our Union Reps have commented several times to me in and outside of class how great things have become in the training department (Call your reps). It is a reality in our industry that some people will not make it through training. It is a reality that some people will not do well in recurrent. Nobody gets singled out personally by anyone, that's what standards are for. As for other realities. We have a dwindling, aging fleet of dash-8s that nobody wants to fly right now. That makes it hard to attract enough candidates to counteract the "Normal" wash-out rate. This forum like most review sites are full of the 10 people that feel they were wronged somehow. They take full advantage of anonymity to wrongfully accuse those who fought daily to get these guys through. So please, if you have any issues we have a open-door policy. Call us. Come down and take a sim ride. Sit through some of our classes. But please do not use this site to make yourself feel better at somebody else's expense. Its not fair to those who are actively working hard to get through this program, or the 100s of guys that get the job done everyday out on the line. They deserve the respect.
Enough of that! See the rest of you at recurrent!
Respectfully,
BS<--- Those are initials lol
