They had little to no chance of going there before because Airways didn't want to take guys from PSA so an 8 month wait is better than not going at all. Obviously this situation is not ideal, but at least it was forecasted and the language was written to not make it an "indefinite" wait.

I have been told these guys are going to be gone by either may or june with the normal "flows" every month after that.

I trust the person this came from but who knows what mgmt will do. FWIW mgmt has told us the training dept. will be caught up by the end of April.

8 upgrades and 23 new hire bid came out today so that prediction seems correct.

Just getting the facts out there instead of "disgusting".

stop using that word in relation to this program, it is not that, and mgmt bull**** semantics trying to validate it just cheapens what true/real flow is...

What exactly would you have me call it? That is the easiest way to describe it without using a full on sentence.

Next time I'll try "Guys who have been hired by mainline via our agreement with the new AAG where they are required to hire 4 pilots per month".

Get over yourself.

I'd personally consider it to be "preferential hiring". It definitely is not a flow through. Just an ex-PDT'er's opinion....

"get over myself"? *rolleyes*

quit trying to make it out for something it isn't

"supposedly preferential hiring"

3 words, and it sums it up fairly well, evenly remotely trying to compare it to flow is a gross misrepresentation

Preferential interview is like Standby Travel.

Things don't always work out the way they are supposed to.

I never tried to make it out to be anything. Any time anyone asks me about it they get facts.

"supposedly preferential hiring" is just as much of a misrepresentation as "flows" is.

how so? other than the end of year totals they are 'supposed' to abide by there really is no metric for who or when they interview, let alone hire
its a far more accurate assessment than referring to it as 'flow' it names it as it is and imparts its wishy-washy nature with the various loop holes and escape clauses they have for themselves

Yes, there is a metric.

They interview in seniority order and are required to hire 4 pilots per month from PSA.

Any held "supposed preferential hires" are required to be released by December of the current year.

The only "escape clause" they have is if they deem that "no one at PSA is qualified". It's not varied and that's the only one.

It's also not wishy washy at all. The language is very specific and mentions both US Airways, and any merged entity, including the new AAG.

There is no "supposed".

I agree that it is not a "flow", that is just an easy term. You are however, downplaying what it is. It would be difficult to violate as it is written.

there's your wishy-washy
but the concessions you guys gave up to an extremely profitable company aren't the point of this thread...
