So I hear the union is meeting with Management on Nov 11. Any idea why? They better not give up a single thing unless the pilot group gives it the green light. Our pilot group needs tone updated a little more often as to what the MEC is up to.

Schedules and base structure. Amazing what you can find out when you call your rep and ask.

That being said they need to put something out after the meeting and get at least a little information out there.

I just found out about it this morning. Why do I have to ask? Why can't the union have weekly updates and tell us?

I agree. Sorry for being a d!ck. The way communication is around here, calling can be the best way to get information in a timely manner.

One has already been parked, in addition to the EWR incident airplane that they have decided not to fix. Two more are scheduled to go before the end of this year, but they actually have essentially been "parked" already...we dropped a line of flight in Sep and another in Oct, leaving 37 lines on weekdays and 34 Saturdays. Some of that might be a normal seasonal drop, but just won't be restored as it normally would in the spring. That leaves us with 42 airplanes (5 spares / 8 on Sat).

As far as hiring, we seem to have the opposite problem if these "interview/immediate hire" rumors are true. I can't see PDT paying new hires $5,000 if they didn't absolutely have to. There's also a rumor floating around that they'll have to drop another line of flying in January due to the inability of staffing it (rumor only.)

Anyway, that's the situ this week. As usual, the future could change overnight...

there was a message posted about it in the facebook group today

nothing substantive, other than the fact that the new committee that's working with the company to review/explore base structure and the make up of the pilot group, from what i've heard, the active committee members are all people who live in base....

thanks for the clarification, i'd heard they were all in base, although imo driving 2 hours is close enough to being 'in base'
