I think this is All a bit late since the voting closes tomarrow.
Lets look and see what's going to happen to PDT if the TA passes will we merge or go the way of Comair and hut own with offers of preferential interviews

Cannot ever abide by using the jumpseat as some kind of a "punishment" on another pilot group for any circumstances, especially if they are voting on THEIR contract. I understand all the angst and grumbling about "lowering the bar" and other arguments. However, at the end of the day cooler heads should always prevail, and it isn't really known what the consequences are going to be if this TA passes for anyone, but the PSA pilots.
I don't think that anyone in their right mind is going to re-fleet Piedmont with a modern turboprop, and my money is going to be on a PSA/PDT merger. It is going to be more entertaining to see the various individual fiefdoms come to their reckoning...An airline version of "For whom the bell tolls"...

I normally agree with your posts...but..wow...just wow. In what universe do you really believe creating consequences for your sister pilot group is a good idea? Think about it, where would the true moral justification be (even speaking hypothetically) with PDT acting as judge and jury against the PSA people if they pass their T/A?
I mean hell man..I've got several good friends at PSA one of them I went to high school with even and they, like you guys at PDT are some of the hardest working most ill treated pilots in the industry...and IMHO if PSA passes that T/A all of them, even my pals should be dragged into the street by their toes and beaten with their Jepps..But that being said, if they pass it, it's on them. I get what your saying. You are proposing a method to deal with those who would collaborate with the whipsaw machine that is Doug Parker. Maybe something along those lines does need to happen...but not the jumpseat. That's sacred ground man. That's like a church to the Highlander and the Kurgan - you can't fight there...

Anyway, what happens to Piedmont if this passes? I said it before, and I'll say it again. . . don't be so sure that they'll merge us into PSA. Management has no obligation to merge us. They can just as easily shrink us to oblivion. This is easier than merging, not to mention, when was the last time management helped us out of the goodness of their hearts? I believe we will be shrunk, the doors will close, and maybe, just maybe, PSA or others will give us preferential hiringto be nice. Some say, "but PSA will need pilots" This is true, but remember for every one of us, there is a younger, more naive person that just got out of a CRJ sim, looking to fly for free. PSA will not be hurting for pilots, especially with "super-sized jets" and fast upgrades"
This is why I do have strong convictions regarding PSA's TA. It very much affects us, and possibly for the worse. Hopefully later today, I'll be eating a lot of my words. . .

PIEDMONT MEC UPDATE – SEPTEMBER 28, 2013
To All Piedmont Pilots:
I sent a letter to Piedmont President Steve Farrow on September 17, 2013, requesting a meeting with Piedmont Management and Group Representatives to discuss the changing nature of the regional airline industry and our pilot group’s future. I stated in the letter that Piedmont Management and ALPA have worked together successfully in the past, resolving problems and advancing both the airline and our pilot group. I am pleased to report that the Company responded favorably a few days ago to that overture. As a result, MEC Vice-Chairman R L and I will be meeting with Steve Farrow and Group Representatives this coming Monday, September 30, in Washington, DC. I will of course brief you on that meeting, as well as any and all developments.
Thank you.
