I agree with frmdashtrash. I don't know why some are misconstrueing Piedmont being too costly to refleat, as Piedmont will get merged. I'd like to think they wouldn't shaft all the crewmembers here, but they don't gain a whole lot by merging. We don't have many jet pilots, so many would be harder to train then simply filling positions from other sources. Piedmont will stand alone just fine as a ground ops only company. Yes, it is possible Piedmont will merge, but I would say just as likely, they will shut flight ops down. We won't know for sure until it happens. Another reason we should have had a spine when voting on the contract. We truly have nothing left to lose.

That's the thing, there really aren't 400 pilots with atp mins ready to jump on at PSA to staff these things. I've never been one to spread the BS of a pilot shortage, but it appears that at the regional level, thanks to the new mins, it's really happening. Bring over the PDT pilots in a merger (we have a list already which is very favorable to PDT pilots) and start replacing the dashes with 900's. Very simple and efficient. Only the PSA idiots will be on a b-scale going "hey what happened to my 2 year upgrade" while the PDT guys will make out like bandits. And before you cite the TA language which states that these airplanes will be flown by "PSA pilots", understand that when merged, PDT pilots will be PSA pilots working for the surviving "airline" name: PSA.

I disagree with the idea that we'd be harder to train. Maybe some of the old guys would have some trouble learning the box but the vast majority of us are perfectly capable of flying jets. I know for a fact that some of our worst pilots who managed to avoid being flat out fired in training ended up flying e-jets at republic and are doing just fine. Not saying everyone that has left here to go to republic was a bad pilot, and I'm not saying I think we'll merge, I just hate when people say that cause it's total bulls#!+.
