Did anybody hear about an engine failure coming out of Harrisburg this morning? That's all I hear with no details. Anybody?

No word on what happened, but the crew successfully brought the aircraft back around safely. From what I've heard, sounds like the engine autofeathered.

They tried to give me that airplane today for the 1100 flight to BOS. Its still not fixed. Latest news they gave me was they were testing the engine and they're having issues with the autofeather.

943HA. Although I'm sure most of these planes have had a failure at one time or another.

My roomate was the captain. It was 943, and I guess it experienced a serious enough rollback that the autofeather activated. Came back with no problems...

I don't know how many of you guys read ask piedmont, But last week someone asked way we dont repaint 906, 907, 911, and 943 as the 4 aircraft going back to the lessor this was a question and response to that this week.

Q. Upon reading that question about what airplanes were being returned from the previous Ask Piedmont where the poster suggests we repaint the tail #s, I have 2 things to say: 1: We need to do another background check on this guy, I think he worked at the chop-shop down the street from where I live here in NYC. 2: I was laughing so hard, I almost cried between the question and response. Sorry it's just a perspective post, but I'm still laughing.
A. Without a little humor, where would we be.......................

The internal memo for hiring of first officers was republished today (2/24/09) stating pretty much the same stuff about not interviewing or hiring in the first half of '09 - but accepting applications. They have increased the times on it to 1500/500 but that is the only change as far as i can tell.

Why on Earth are they doing that when we are facing a furlough? I honestly have no idea, perhaps only to keep the rumor mill churning and prevent a mass exodus (which probably wouldnt happen anyway in this environment).
