1.We are already due this, and we shouldn't have had to re-negotiate it.
2. We all know that if it isn't water-tight, this management will find a way to renege on anything that we negotiate. (and they will get away with it)
Also, this particular item better survive any sort of merger, acquisition, successorship, or in the event Piedmont Airlines ceases flight operations. (If i lose my job because Piedmont shuts down, I better still have a mainline seniority number.)
anything short of the above is a total waste of our time and effort, and a NO vote in my book. If our Negotiating Committee/ALPA national lawyers can't accomplish this, I don't want it. I'd rather get something else, or keep our insurance premiums lower.
On another note, I hope our N.C. has some form of rigs negotiated. Since that is what the MAJORITY want. I could care less about an increase in 401k matches, or per-diem for that matter. The real money is in rigs, and they also serve a dual function of forcing the company to be efficient, and adding to our quality of life. (or they will have to pay for it) This is especially important with the new rest rules going into effect. This is another sticking issue with me. I will not vote YES, just to work 19-20 days a month and credit 85 hrs.

How many regional airlines have rigs in their contract? I think they'd be the most beneficial element of our contract besides some sort of flow thru but since they were not mentioned in the letter put out by the union, I would not hold my breath for them.

Nope. I heard several weeks still. (they are finalizing the wording). ALPA better be solid on their wording this time around, or you can be damn sure I'll be pulling my dues payments. No more of this "try" and "if possible" language. Where did the ALPA National lawyers get their licenses from anyway; All ATP Lawyer Licensing?

Company was supposed to finish with it last week but a massive power failuire/computer failure thu in sby plus the snow storm Friday has that pushed back. MEC hasn't even seen this yet. Soooooo, anything you're hearing is purely rumor and speculation. Plus who knows what everyone will think of this thing once us/amr merger formally announced this week.
