These guys love to fire probies if they fart in the wrong direction.

im sorry but i have to question this. how is it productive for management to put all that money into newhires just to fire them like a walmart employee because they don't like your face that day. is that not self defeating?
Dashgirl is right that if you had experience with a real 6 pack and your scan is great than you will have a leg up. Not saying that those with glass experience can't quickly pick up on using steam gauges but it's a learning curve. Vice versa for those of us that learned with steam gauges and would do rj training.....but the big thing is some people just can't fly or have minimum multi experience. I got hired with very low hours and did just fine, but i also did my commercial in a seminole with quite a few instrumented engine failures. I lost 3 new hire partners in the process and they just plain could not fly. Every time the instructor failed an engine the sim rolled over and the screen turned red.

Attitude has a lot to do with it as well. I had a partner in the sim that flew pretty well but his attitude was horrible. Don't b a "know it all". Your there to learn, not to teach the instructors. I think a lot of the new hires are former CFI's or single engine 135 pilots and they have a sense of entitlement. Doesnt matter if you have 200 hours or 2000, training takes a good amount of discipline and you gotta study

You are correct. It is self-defeating and it makes no sense. We have never understood why, especially when we were short staffed, they took this mentality. But they do. This simply demonstrates that we have absolute morons running the company. New hires on probation can and will get fired for things they may not have even done. It's happened! All it takes is an accusation from a senior CA and you are out. These "wise" men that run the company don't even bother to ask you your side of the story. Alpa can do little for new hires not that our union does much of anything but hold secret meetings and spend dues on pointless crap like stickers.

Out of Piedmont. But sometimes I think I could have made a better career choice as well, but I'll wait a few more years before I pass judgement on that.

It was all of the things you mentioned above.

The company motto is "We're not happy, until you're not happy".

Piedmont only has 100s and 300s, no 200s. The sim is replicated after a 100 and we have more of those anyway so I'd probably go with that. As for 2 page or 3 I don't remember. Think I mighta gone with the 3.

The sim hasn't been replicated as a 100 in over a year, it's an all steam 300. KNS v. UNS only difference.
