So do you think we will be released to Self Help or will they try and schedule more negotiations.

Unfortunately it has to be a willingness on behalf of the company to negotiate in "good faith" for the mediator to allow negotiations to continue. And as of yet, when it comes to the big items like scheduling and pay, Salisbury is still spouting insulting pay increases, current book or worse. This won't continue much longer and that is all I really could say. I personally think we are within 90 days of being released into self-help. And if we really are that close we will likely end up with a substandard "imposed" contract as we simply have not become organized enough to actually strike. We are in a bad position considering the goings on in the industry and a potential AMR merger looming, as a strike carries with it the very real possibility Tempe may simply wash their hands of PDT's flight ops. We are between a rock and a hard place which may explain the MEC's seeming lack of motion.

Saw this and thought it was kind of random that the new FIL about PHL departure headings is only addressed to First Officers.

Anyone flown 331 (HDJ) into GSO lately? If so, you might be on camera...

Thanks for pointing those pictures out! I've read this forum for a long time now but have never had a reason to post until now. If the pics were taken 4/30/12, that would be my landing after diverting to GSO from ROA (low ceilings).

Which bases are people getting out of ground school? Also, on average, about how many hours are guys flying a month on reserve?

Base assignments are completely random insofar as which one you might get. It completely depends on what slots the company opens up for that bid. That being said, EWN is rare just because it's the smallest base and fairly senior for some reason though I have no idea why.

Most likely slots to open are MDT and ROA as they are the largest bases. But hiring is slowing. I'm not really sure but I don't think they have any new hire classes even scheduled right now. The are hiring into a pool only. The April class was the last one I think but don't quote me on that. The training dept has got a huge backlog of issues to deal with. Nearly every F/O here needs an ATP/Type ride by next summer and the sim will be down for 45 days late summer/early fall for overhaul. There is now a very high probability US Airways will be merging with American so that and the LGA draw down due to the slot swap means we went from not enough pilots to fully staffed fairly fast. Active classes may start again later this year but there are a lot of unknowns in the near future due to the looming merger.

Scheduling loves to fly reserves right up to just shy of guarantee then park them for the rest of the month. So to answer that question you on average would only get your 72 hr guarantee. They never let reserves pick up additional flying unless you grab a 2 day in the middle of your golden days which you won't want to do as you only get 10 days off on reserve.

Don't come here...We are very close to being released into self-help. A strike is possible but what is more likely is we will get an imposed contract worse then the one we already have. Management at this company is very difficult to deal with. There is an immensely hostile relationship between the pilot group and Salisbury right now. You need to understand this very thoroughly because if we strike, new-hire pilots on probation will be terminated if you walk out. And if you show up to work scabbing your fellow pilots will more or less murder you. Also the airplanes are falling apart and running an average of 3 MEL's. And they are getting so old they are starting to do very strange things. We are seeing maint. issues come up that defy logic.

And no one has any clue what our fate will be if this merger happens. Tempe is giving the wholly owns zero info. We have no idea if we will even have jobs a year from now more so then your average industry job uncertainty.

Lot's of regionals are hiring right now. Anyone coming here is frankly making a very bad decision.

Does PDT have a training contract?

Are new hires getting ATPs?

Does PDT still have an above average washout rate due to the in house training?

What times are people getting interviews with currently?

Is it hard to get an interview without an internal rec?
