Just came across this headline today, the information is vague as always, but with leases coming up in '09 its another sign pointing in the wrong direction for PDT.

[US Airways] has now revealed in a filing with the US Securities and Exchange commission that it plans to remove "additional aircraft in 2009 and 2010".

If this will make you feel better i overheard while i was at our head office that mainline has put forward a proposal to merge Piedmont and PSA. Soon you too can be a "Jet Jock".

I can't take credit for "Jet Jocks" i just quote PHUZ is all....

Wow.. How about we keep the 'PDT News and Rumors' thread related to 'PDT News and Rumors'.. I understand its not easy for you jet jocks to grasp that concept, but essentially you are supposed to create a new topic when you want to discuss something else.

Careful with that.. you wouldn't want to obscure all those mighty Purdue and Riddle lanyards.

In this weeks questions on the website, someone (I guess a customer service rep) asked about when they are getting their 300$ allowance for uniforms.

Q. I am in need of more new uniforms. Just making sure we are getting our 300 dollar uniform allowance January 1st 2009.

================================================== =====

Why are customer service agents eligible for a 300$ uniform allowance, and flight/cabin crews don't get a dime? Unless cabin crews do, I don't know.

Because we don't have it in our contract. Every workgroup has different rules, different perks, different allowances, etc etc. It's just the way it is. We definitely need to push for a uniform allowance with this new contract coming up though.

From what I've been hearing...we used to have it in the contract (Allegheny) but that's no longer the case...Gotta push for it on during the next round of bargaining.

That is correct. We used to get a brand new uniform every 2 years, paid in full by ALG.
