Alright, I'll bite. Has anyone had the new crew meals in CLT? Supposedly we are to get them from the new Starbucks down near Burger King. I think it started August 1st.

It's whisper quite like those jets we are getting!!

Yeah, we had a scheduled crewmeal on Aug 1st and it was a major fail. They said that they only get 9 meals a day and I was the 5th crew of that day. But they gave us a sandwich and a pastry to resolve the problem. Also everyone on the crew must go in and sign for your meal!!

We see Captains flying right seat on trips while FO's have a hard time breaking guarantee. Where is the flying and are we getting any back? A. We will see a decrease in September, partially driven by it being a 30 day month, but Oct goes up to close to summer levels. We just received a revision to Nov that increases it to close to Oct utilization levels, although it is a 30 day month and we get a Thanksgiving pull down, which means a lower total for the month. We have not seen a final December yet, but based on last year, would anticipate a pretty significant reduction from Oct and Nov. We don't plan on pilot furloughs or recalls at this point.

US Airways Bolsters Flying to the Big Apple - Yahoo! Finance

Out of this new service, PDT will be doing LGA-BDL/IAD/MDT. Looks like PDT also gains back 1 frequency on LGA-SYR. This is all at first glace; I haven't had time yet to really dig into the schedule.

Schedule wise of course AWAC is the big winner here!!!!! Most flights are increased to their schedules. Maybe we will now get rid of them in CLT... Wishful thinking perhaps...

PDT as mentioned will gain MDT, SYR, IAD, BDL it looks like some as well. SYR will also be Colgan.... So I guess its a great think for the PDT as long as others dont get cut.... Guess we shall wait and see what happens.

You can only do so much flying with 44 airplanes.

I really wouldn't call AWAC a 'big winner'. I think they have some bit-part seasonal flying ending (like DCA-ACK), and some of the already-announced DCA slot transfer flying they were supposed to do (think DCA-YOW) now not happening. Figure, from the yahoo release PDT gains about 10 daily departures. Who knows where the airplane time will come from, but if I had to guess, LGA-PHL will get pulled down from its 20-daily levels.

Don't know where you're getting that "Most flights are increased to their schedules" generalization from. They're gaining 8 dailiy departures to PDT's 10. Also, to mainline planning it really doesn't matter whether AWAC, PSA, CHQ etc. does the flying. A 50 seat RJ is a 50 seat RJ. So in the initial upload AWAC may have the trip, but if in a future schedule revision it's more convenient to have PSA do it, well, that's what will happen.

And porqueno, I was looking at 11/1. One of the evening flighs LGA-SYR comes back to the Dash.

I think PDT could easily do more flying with the 44 aircraft. But who knows what's going on with AWAC after all they have all the seasonal die down they are still the only ones with all their pilots back, hired some, and still going to be hiring another 20-30 by years end... They are heavy in CLT now in addition to every other base on the east... Just wish we as PDT/PSA could see more of the flying etc...
