Doubt it. No one will ever buy piedmont. Senior airplanes with senior pilots. Where's the value?

Yea I could see the old salty guys at PDT playing real nice with the MESA jumbojet-flying koolaid-drinking always-concessionary crowd.

Agreed, the older guys are pretty much screwed and have to go with the flow. They are 50-60 years old...can't really start over at a regional as an FO because that would be way to "beneath them" and they can't retire yet because they all have one to three ex wives and/or couldn't save a lot for retirement since they only make $80 an hour. But hey, at least they can live in Syracuse, Newport News, and Harrisbury and have a great QOL.

I recently did a double DH on two seperate airplanes and they were way to hot for service. Something needs to be done about this. This is not right. It is embarassing to ride back there with people knowing that I am a PDT pilot. On one flight I had to help a mom fan her 4 month old baby with a saftey briefing card because it was so hot!!!! I think the next time scheduling has me DH to PHL or CLT to pick up a trip and the airplane is hot....I am going to call in sick after the DH and say I am too hot and sick to my stomach to fly because of their ****ty airplanes. I wish I could sue US Airways for allowing me and other people to be exposed to 100+ degree temperatures for 2 hours.

your captains COULD put an end to this by refusing to fly the particular HOT aircraft for safety reasons...just saying..

Most do but some just want to keep the planes moving so the company can last a few days longer. Thing about it is it takes 2 to fly a plane. So they can get another FO to come in cause if it is too hot, I won't fly it.

That happened to me last summer in CLT. I said we should wait to get it cooled down or we shouldn't fly. CA called me a little girl, FA called me stuck up and a prima donna. So we need unity before we start refusing hot airplanes. Its sad really.

yea it is... it is 2010 ffs.

There is honestly no excuse why these airplanes get so hot.

I remember 2 years ago on one of my first trips during the summer a CA whipped out a thermometer to check the temp, and said if it gets above a certain value he rejects the plane. No questions asked, and a good approach... of course the APU was INOP on that airplane during a freakin heatwave in CLT... nice. Wonder if mngmt had to sit in a 110 degree office how they would like it.
