Yeah it is not the pax fault that they are going to sites like cheapfare or expedia to find the lowest fares don't matter if they are rerouted around the whole country or if they flying down in one airline and comingback in another carrier making airlines bring their fares to the down dirty bottom where they cannot make money anymore. and then guess who is they final people affected with pay cuts and nasty work rules .... Yeap us the pilots and airline workers are the ones paying the final price by the passanger not being loyal to the airlines any more.

Find out who bought the cheap tickets and make them pay to use the Lav?

I disagree. While it is a result of consumers paying for a service at the lowest price, it is not the consumer's fault for the type of work rules or pay/earnings you experience. As a consumer, you look for the product/service that meets your needs, at the lowest price. Given the same level of service throughout the industry, there is no incentive for the consumer to pay a higher price for the same level of service.

The only thing I am confident of is that PAX when booking on those websites only look at how much time between connections, and how many stops along the way, and of course the cost. (at least the more fying savy ones). They can care less what airline it is, even if they vowed to never fly on that airline ever again, 2 weeks earlier. Like mentioned above, not many people see a even slight difference between whether its Delta, U.S Airways, American Airlines, Northwest, Continental, or United, because they all suck just as much as the other.

As for PDT does anybody know anyone who went and took the VOL? I don't.

I can't wait to see the day when pax have to pay to check their carry-ons.
Ahhhh sir that will be $5 if you want your carry-on to come aboard. $2 for that laptop. You will also need to pay to read our in flight magazine.

Last week I heard that they were looking for 12 and had 9 takers. Also, an interesting note, as per the Piedmont contract, any taker of a month long voluntary leave of absence (which is what is being offered) loses one month of seniority. Funny how they don't mention that in the FIL. Anyways, I think the MEC got them to change that part, so that people who take this VOL don't lose any seniority.

I guess that is better then no takers. I really wonder what will happen with those airplanes that the lease is ending on in 2009. If they were to lose some airframes that would not be a very good thing for people on the bottom of seniority list and also for poolies. Or anybody for that matter.

I read so much about these leases. I thought PDT owns all the 100s and leases the 300s...I would think the 300's would be more of a money maker since more seats. Unless money was really that tight, why would they get rid of them?
