Yeah, its even more worse than Great Lakes but with CommutAir's, they take $500 off per month of active service. If you are furloughed, they freeze it and you must accept a recall or pay whatever is remaining. They gave me a copy of their contract. Pretty entertaining reading

Wonder if they're using the same Tamdar system they had installed on one plane awhile back. Also, do you know if they're standardizing the radars on what the -300 has, or is this something totally new? Not that it matters all that much, just a conversation topic.

The main difference is in the antennae. The current antennae has 1.3kw, the new ones will have 6.0kw output. I am looking forward to seeing how that will perform at longer ranges this summer.
With the current radars, they use two different antennae sizes. You never know what size antennae is on your aircraft and therefore you don't know the beamwidth. Hopefully the new setup will stick to one antennae size and get more consistant radar returns between different aircraft.

The radar controller head looks like what we are currently using in the 100's. All the buttons are the same. I am not sure if the new radars will retain the graphics controller.

I don't think all of the new radars will have the VP feature. The info I received says "Addition of Vertical Profile Mode (on VP equipped indicators)" which seems to say that you will need a VP equipped indicator in order for it to work.
With our current old radars, some have the VP button and some don't. You don't know if it is functional unless you try it out. With the new radars I think the VP will always work if you have the new antennae, and the VP equipped indicator.

When an airline puts out an RFP its to price the market for a chunk of flying. So a RFP on mesa's 900 flying means that airways is requesting bids on that flying. It does not mean that Airways intends to get rid of Mesa.
