according to company site, there's 377 guys on the property not including guys on leave or furloughed (it also includes a few mgmt pilots) last one being a 12/17/07 hire
including those on leave (but not furlough) brings it up to 401

alpa site shows 468 on seniority list including loa's but the guy that's 401 on the company list is 408 on the alpa list, indicative maybe of recall bypassers?

Thanks! Yeah, I have access to the ALPA seniority list, which was last updated January 1, 2010.......I wanted to be able to see how many have quit since then.

For those who just got the recall....how is the company trying to screw you out of your two sets of vacation slots? (Assuming they are)

There are 398 active pilots, including those on sick leave. This includes the training staff and one other management pilot. One FO resigned in February.

If the company is trying to screw you out of vacation, contact the union - assuming you still trust them. However, you may find your name in the Buffalo News.

For those still on furlough, you missed the most action since I've been here. There is a good number of us really ticked at the way the union attacked a fellow ALPA pilot. It was bad enough when we had to worry about the company wanting to beat on us. Now it appears the union wants some of that action too.

Don't worry, those of us on furlough are just as ticked off at the union. When you say "the way the union attacked a fellow ALPA pilot".....what do you mean? They didn't turn him/her into the company did they?

Alright I have to break my silence on this one, let us not get too anti-union on this latest newspaper article. From my understanding this was not the actions of the MEC, but one member of the MEC trying to take things into his own hands. Remember the letter that was leaked was from the MEC to the company, the MEC was trying to protect everybody involved by making this an internal issue. One member decided it was better to air our dirty laundry to the public. I think the actions of this one member of the MEC are in very poor taste, and we the rank and file are going to suffer from his or hers actions.

I never understand when people say, "we are all really ticked off at the union". You all are the union, so you should be ticked off at yourselves. Now if you said a majority of us are ticked off at the union leadership I could understand that, but then I'd ask why don't you (a member of the union) do something about it? Organize or join in organizing a recall of the MEC.

he may be a fellow alpa pilot but he was soliciting for leads to cause the termination of two other of his 'fellow' pilots, so you're post is well beyond disingenuous and into the realm of inflammatory
alpa didn't put anyones name in any buffalo paper, someone leaked a letter sent to the company from the mec to address the issue internally.
you're animosity is misplaced, unless you are a mgmt lackey or otherwise involved in the "training" dept

what reason do you have to be ticked off at the union? its the company that furloughed you, not alpa. its the 'min staffing' ideology of the powers that be that decided to trim the ranks (and by extension, the payroll)

the basic gyst of what happened is this, apparently a checkairman/training pilot went around the line propositioning pilots for information about who the pilots were in the buffalo article complaining about the lack of stickpusher training so they could be terminated. in recompense for being dirty rats, he was offering a 'free ride' in cq, and a paid week off the line
