Station managers always know what's going on well before the company tells you what's going on, at least with my company

OneEye,
I seriously thought you were speaking poorly of me.
I misunderstood. It just seemed super sarcastic, but I completely understand what you meant to get across. I apologize for my coarse response.

And I have a habit of getting long winded. So please put up with me for that.

Dead on. You'll have a comment period for stations to make sure something's practical before it gets uploaded. US's 'final' schedule uploads, IMO, (and this is just from the public usairways.com) seem to go in about 2 months ahead of when it flies. I guess we'll get the word on this the beginning of Apr. Not that things can't change, but this rule of thumb has worked out pretty well.

Cub, just interested what CJC is doing with the fleet to make this happen if it does occur. Didn't you guys just shift a few more US birds down to your UA operation at Dulles? Just curious.

I figured Colgan would get the flying back eventually....since they do it for so cheap. Hopefully this won't affect the possibility of recalls.

It's a pro-rate agreement. Colgan assumes all risk for operating the flight. from the Pinnacle Airlines Corp. Annual Report, page 12:

Form 10-K, dated 2/26/10
"
US Airways Express Agreement

We operate ten Saab 340 aircraft under a code-share agreement with US Airways (the “US Airways Agreement”). Colgan entered into the US Airways Agreement in 1999 to provide passenger service and cargo service under the name “US Airways Express.” The US Airways Agreement provides us use of the US Airways flight designator code to identify flights and fares in computer reservations systems, permits use of logos, service marks, aircraft paint schemes, and uniforms similar to those used by US Airways and coordinated scheduling and joint advertising. The US Airways Agreement is structured as a revenue pro-rate agreement for which we receive all of the fares associated with our local passengers and an allocated portion of connecting passengers’ fares. We pay all of the costs of operating the flights, including sales and distribution costs. We control all scheduling, inventory and pricing for each local market we serve. The current three-year US Airways Agreement became effective on October 1, 2005 under terms similar to the 1999 agreement. Since the end of the three-year term in 2008, the US Airways Agreement continues to automatically extend for multiple six-month periods until either party provides notice to terminate. "

Yeah but less flights = less staffing level needs right?

This is obviously a rumor at this point, but non-Colgan station managers don't really have any incentive to start false rumors. CJC's at-risk flying is obviously cheaper than PDT in addition to the fact we are paid less. I guess we'll see what happens. As far as I know there are a limited amount of airplanes and at least one has gone to IAD and at least one will be on BOS-PBG. That's all I know. Again a rumor; didn't know if you Piedmonter's had heard anything.

Can't argue with that statement. However, we don't have the full picture. CJC may be taking some 'marginal' markets back....I don't know how ITH/CHO/MHT are doing. Which is what I was saying about Colgan assuming the risk for operating these 3 cities. Now, as far as US is concerned, who cares what happens. It's Colgan that loses money, US just makes money for the marketing of the flights.

Hopefully, PDT will be given other flying, get more PHL/CLT stuff/etc. We just don't know yet. Again, we haven't seen the schedules, the block hour forecasts or the June bid for that matter. I really do think that PDT won't take that much of a hit.

New question.....I heard from a good friend currently flying that 3 FO's have recently quit. Has anyone heard of people currently flying that are looking to jump ship to these other airlines that are hiring (like eagle) since the fate of Piedmont is unknown next year?
