What a pilot! Limited experience but he has already MASTERED the art of *****ing. As noted in the answer, all he had to do was bring his complaint to the right people and he, and the rest of the returning furloughed pilots could have enjoyed a nice hotel, with breakfast and a crew lounge.
You gotta expect at least one weekly rant on AskPDT, pilots love to complain. Just be glad he didn't write to the Buffalo Newspapers about it

It is a forum for employees to bring up issues to the company which receives responses from Steve to Doug to Bill to Gary. I say it is a perfect forum to address concerns.
Also the company has a department to secure hotel contracts. Why was I supposed to know to go to Jay to discuss it, or to know that we were getting a new hotel. If that was told to the pilot group at any point from when i got furloughed to when I got recalled, I never heard a thing about it. And why would I, I was furloughed, and cut off from all official internal communications. We have been put in the same place for the past couple years even with all the ask piedmont and hotel comittee complaints.
My issue is not with training. They do a great job, my issue was with company provided accomodations. As to what my experiences were, they were from multiple visits as i said in my ask piedmont post. As to the experiences i said to cue up other crew members, just ask around.
So OneEye, have a little tact when you decide to speak badly about me in a public forum. But at least Myself and Jay who responded to my post made out identities known (internally on AP), which you convienently forgot to do..
Please PM me so we can discuss this further.

I'm glad the guys at the training dept. responded the way they did... If I was the one replying to that I couldn't resist just saying...
"Welcome back to Piedmont!"
-- I stayed at the homestead a lot, and only called the cops out once so I could go to sleep before my 4am Sim session. The bed was no Hampton Inn, but I actually enjoyed being able to open the windows and sit outside and study on the nice days, or even grill a steak on the grill they provided.
The Country Inn isn't in the best of neighborhoods either... I think I recall it getting robbed while a lot of our pilots were in the dinning area studying.

that's the homestead. From what I heard, you could walk to it from the old one too, which is near what is now a lightrail station, not that I've been there or anything ;-)

Relax Piedmonster. It was actually a compliment. We pilots take pride in our ability to (insert name of female dog). Thus the first sentence, What a pilot! Most of us take years to perfect that skill. To have mastered it shortly after arriving in the business is a good thing. Your post to Ask Piedmont might have been a little too long though. Don't forget, pilots get bored easily. Chill out and have a beer at the strip club.

i'm sure jay would have regaled the cos with an equally vociferous rant about whiny/worthless pilots if he'd actually taken the complaint right to him
