I heard it from my friend's cousin who is a captain for SkyWest who heard it from a flight attendant who was doing a hotel employee who had heard it from another pilot who heard it from a bus driver who has a son who is a furloughed pilot that had heard it from SkyWest's president's pool cleaner. I am pretty sure he has evidence.

I also heard that after Republic furloughs all the Lynx guys, they are going to bring on all the MESA guys who get furloughed from the Mesa bankruptcy before they bring on the rest of the furloughed Republic pilots, then Lynx pilots and then Midwest guys.

Mesa would be a great candidate because they have the most highly skilled Dash 8 mountain pilots in the United States, but given the current financial situation at Mesa as well as the loss of the United Dash 8 codeshare, they will not get the Q400.
Mesa nearly got the Q400 years ago, but there were disagreements between Mesa and United regarding 10 vs. 15 year leases on the aircraft. Too bad, with their extensive experience flying the Dash 8 in the Colorado Rockies, it would have made for a great operation.

"Mountain skill" of pilots has nothing to do with this. I'm assuming that was in jest? Some QX folks may disagree.
Replacing 37-seat (possibly weight restricted) DH2's with DH4's that have near twice the seating capacity is not a good option unless traffic levels can support it. Some markets like EGE/ASE can sustain year-round mainline and multiple hub operations, but smaller cities such as DRO/GJT would do just fine with seveal 37 seat trips. We as DH8 pilots get dazzled by the DH4 easily since, hell, it's still a Dash, but with a massive steroid problem. It is, and is meant to be, an easy transition for us.
Main point being; it's twice as big as the baby Dash. Not good planning sense, unless diluting your yields in small markets is your only goal. It's nice to look at that beautiful low CASM and breakeven that BBD advertises, but if you're only filling the airplane with cheap fare buckets, your RASM has taken such a beating that the smaller plane may be your better option.
So anything new at PDT?

Thank you...today is a bad day. There is about 2 feet of snow and I am stuck in my apartment....that totally made my day go from a 4 to an 8. The only thing that would make it a 10 is if Mesa went Chapter 7.

Did you know that a large percentage of Lynx pilots are former Mesa pilots?
